The 2016 WPT Five Diamond World Poker Classic drew a field of 791 entries to beat the precious record that was set in 2007 when Ukraine's Eugene Katchalov outlasted a field of 664 entrants to bank $2,482,605. The field size also tied the WPT record in $10k buy-in events with the 2007 WPT L.A. Poker Classic, which was won by Eric Hershler for $2,429,970.

Many congratulations to James Romero on winning his first WPT title and the near $2,000,000 first prize. This was a huge tournament and he must have played really well to win
this guys Justin Bonomo was really insane, he did not win but was a force through out the whole thing and he is always in good position in very important events. Great player both online and offline But congrats to James for taking this down...

many congratulations to james romero for managing to win wpt five diamond event and take home a little bit more than he previously did on his live performances. it must feel great to improve on your overall score in live events of just over $4.5K by quite a cool amount of $1.9 millions.
