I've now finished up my first 3 games on the $0.22 level and I got ITM on all 3 for a total profit of $0.54 which is a great start! Bankroll now sitting at $10.36 so only $0.64 needed to go up one more level!

Played 2 more games, cashed in both. I so far have a 100% ITM rate on the $0.22 level Big Smile not that hard with only 5 games played but hey, stats look great Blink

Games cashed: 5

ROI: 181.82%

CURRENT STATS, $0.11 Buy-In:
Games played: 13
Games cashed: 9
ROI: 125.87%
Average profit per game: $0.03
Total profit: $0.37

CURRENT STATS, $0.22 Buy-In:
Games played: 5
Games cashed: 5
ROI: 181.82%
Average profit per game: $0.18
Total profit: $0.90

Nice result. Very well done.

I don't mean to sound blunt, but your ROI is miscalculated.

DoN - $0.11
ROI (%) = (Net Profit / Cost of Investment) x 100
ROI (%) = ($0.37 / $1.43) x 100
ROI (%) = 25.87

DoN - $0.22
ROI (%) = (Net Profit / Cost of Investment) x 100
ROI (%) = ($0.90 / $1.10) x 100
ROI (%) = 81.82

I don't really think that's accurate. ROI = Return on Investment. If I had only 25.87% / 81.82% that would mean I've gotten less money then I've invested and thus losing money. $10 invested and $10 won would mean I've gotten my investment back, 100%. If I earn more then what my investment is, it should also be seen in the %. $10 invested, $12 won, 12/10=1.2, I've earned 1.2 times what I've put in, which is 120% of my initial investment.

My calculation is based on the universally accepted standard.

Yeah, I get that. I just feel that it's somewhat misrepresented to use that calculation. Otherwise if you're making a loss, it would be a negative %. So if you're making a 10% loss, it would be -10% which could be a little bit confusing. I get what you're saying and I know that's the "normal" way of doing it, but as I've said, I feel it doesn't quite show it in a good way.

20 per cent of course a good profit .. but that if you put money in the bank at the end of the year would have received 20% more .. but it seems to me in poker is a little different ... and profit $ 2 per game for quite a long time it certainly is funny Big Smile

everyone plays the limits that are comfortable with.
And if you have set targets on when to climb or drop due to a loss, then its even better.
It may be a slower road, but can be less bumpy Smile
And when you are not playing professionally, there is no reason to rush it.

As of right now, I would like to reach the $5.50 level and see if I can be profitable there as well. I know I'm profitable at my current level, $0.22, and I'm fairly sure I will be at the next few levels as well. But we'll see when I get there!

perhaps this is true only in those cases when you just start to play in a wonderful and beautiful game of poker in order to understand all the nuances of the game and learn to do the right rate .. and this is only true for the game at the micro limits Blink

Just updated my stats. Made a $0.08 loss over 4 games so a small step backwards but too bad, one win and that would turn into a $0.10 profit. And I'm still in the green on this level in total so not much to complain about.

CURRENT STATS, $0.22 Buy-In:

Games cashed: 7

ROI: 141.41%

Bankroll needed for next level: $11

Played 5 games since last update, cashed in 3 of them so made some profit.

I'm really in a rut lately, I'm basically just breaking even and it's really frustrating! Especially since I'm so close to moving up in stakes. All I need is to make about $0.50 profit and that shouldn't be so difficult! I'm sure I will eventually get it but as of right now, It's just frustrating me that I can't get a break...

Congrats erru9107 on building your bankroll. Everyone starts from somewhere. I started with freerolls and I came 2nd in $400 freeroll and I won $22 for that. 9 man sit and gos were my favourite. Is there enough skill in 6 man DoN? I never really tried them.

DoN is different from regular SnG but it's still quite a bit off skill.

For that much of 50 cents i think you can move on and increase your buy ins.
It is not that you are way outside your planned limits for it.

The good thing so far is that you have a steady outcome with a very low drawdown..
Good luck with the next step.

I've finally had some hands going my way and my +EV plays paid off so now I can finally move up in stakes. Or at least give it a shot and we'll see how it goes!

******************************************************************************

CURRENT STATS, $0.22 Buy-In:

Games played: 20
Games cashed: 14

ROI: 127.27%
Average profit per game: $0.06

Total profit: $1.20

Bankroll: $11.02
Bankroll needed for next level: $11

I now have the bankroll to move up to the $0.55 level and give it a shot. If I win the first game, I can stay on that level, if I lose I'll just have to get back to work on my current level.

------------
I've played my first game on the $0.55 level and cashed in it so I now have a bankroll of $11.47 which is a great stepping stone for me on this new level.

------------
Played another game on the new level and cashed in that one as well! It's a wonderful start to this new buy-in. Current stats below (granted, only 2 games but at least it's stats lol).

******************************************************************************

CURRENT STATS, $0.55 Buy-In:

Games played: 2
Games cashed: 2

ROI: 181.82%
Average profit per game: $0.45

Total profit: $0.90

Bankroll: $11.92
Bankroll needed for next level: $22

I have to say you are very patient, playing these games, keeping the bankroll management
you have set.
Not easy to do that, with the time this is taking to move up the ladder.
Keep it up and good luck.

I am patient. No need to rush when I don't have much time to play anyway Blink
