Who is playing The Deal on PS?  -1
I'm seeing a lot of positive and negative talk about The Deal around the web.

I think it's smart on PS' part. It soaks up the starcoins quickly, which is the site's rakeback of course. I wonder whether the site has concluded that too many players were using star coins for actual cashback which is what I do. Having huge tournaments with a starcoin buyin is a good way to get those coins spent without having to pay out so much. One has to assume that PS believes it to be financially advantageous for them.

I noticed recently that there's a The Deal button right on the table! I guess the site wants you to play it while you're waiting for the table action to move along. Also smart.

It's a slot machine of course, no poker in it at all. Also smart for them to make you select two discards, which you can then see, so that when you see you could have got a set or full house or something had you chosen differently you'll want to play again. It also makes the player feel like they are doing something to contribute to the result even if it's still fully random.

I play every 12 hours or so, just to pick up the bonus for when someone else wins the jackpot. I've made something like $10 off of it in the past few weeks, and down only $2 worth of starcoins for it. I've hit a set twice for a 25 coin "win" but nothing else. Has anyone else won anything even close to a decent cash prize?

------------
Oh, and the jackpot is getting up there, currently at $116,000. Nobody has won in a while. So if you have some starcoins laying around, have one shot at The Deal. If somebody wins it today, everyone else will get around $1 who has played in the last 12 hours.

And if you play it and win the jackpot, contact me here to arrange for delivery of my finders fee! Big Smile

... Big Smile< ...I figure if you are spending big bucks there anyway, you will earn lots of coins on the side and get plenty of shots at the jackpot...

... Big Smile< ...but if you're not a BIG spender like me,...then chasing that thing,...even for the lesser prizes,...just isn't worth it,....and I'm not going to let Amaya suck my sanity and wallet chasing that crap for pennies it looks like now...

... Big Smile< The Deal was GREAT at one point until they merged,...and got too f'n greedy....

Well The odds are horribly against you. For hitting two pairs you are only break even. So you need at least trips to be in plus and thats ridiculous, cause there is like 3% chance... So the best way is to play ONLY ONE hand every day, so you cover the peak hours on PS which is something like from 14:00 to 02:00 CET and hope that some player will hit jackpot. Then you get some small prize for it. I was doing it like that couple of days. Spent 35 starscoins (equivalent of 0,35$) and I won about 4$. No reason to play more hands cause odds are really horrible for you.

I play the deal once every two hours a couple weeks backs when the deal was still on Full Tilt I hit a flush good for Dollar 2 but folded one card that would have given me a straight flush Angry Disagree If you play it every twelve hours it will give you extra Dollar 10 bankroll every week. Dollar Thumbs Up

They woouldnt do anything if they couldnt get a prt out of it.
So having it up still and running, it means they are getting paid Smile
If they werent they would have made changes probably the first two days Smile

Hey like it, it is always a nice feeling you can magically (for a lot of rake) win over 75000 dollar, I mean what the hell, the odds are not good, but way better than slotmachines with jackpot i presume.

Your hard earned points can also be spend on tickets for satellites, but no! you inner gambler shouts, DEAL DEAL DEAL. I like it cause it gives an extra experience to the whole poker thing without being too much part of the casino site.

There will be a day a mobbit comes here and proudly posts his DEAL result, maybe $500, but still fine.

well me ponders that from mathematical point this is another horrible to the player and great to the house promotion, which is so typical of amayastars. surely there are better ways to spend you star points, like on a pornhub yearly subscription or buy a manly light blue tshirt and visit the ... parade.

the deal is pretty funny. it reminds me on "ponzi scheme" Big Smile
all players together throw aproximatly 1 million dollars in the slotmachine called the deal. after the slotmachine is filled to the top they give you a few dollars back.
a amazingly and excellent way for PS not to pay players their rakeback back because they self just gamble it off.

Hahaha exactly t3ddyKGB. The only way for the deal to be EV+ is to play it before the peak hours when the jackpot is above 100k I believe. Other than that it's just gambling your starcoins which are basically real money so you might as well gamble them playing real poker. Basically, invest in your own skills instead of investing in the 1 in a billion chance of a big jackpot.

You are all right Stars started to come to this jackpot to have peoples spend their coins instead of buying tickets for tournament.

And it seems that they were right if you look at the speed the jackpot goes.

Last night i was playing a tournament and in a few minutes there was to guys that tried the wheel one won $5,000. and the other $500. and later on there was another try but i don't remember how much he won but no jackpot.

To have three try in a few hours imagine how many players put coins to hit. Big Smile Big Smile

Seriously when was the last time PS had a decent promo where you had chance to get anything decent with or without the odds against you? Amaya really messed up not just the whole internal/external freeroll structure but the way they rolling out promotions to the masses...

Hey there mobsters!

The deal jackpot is now at 150 000, I haven't seen it this high yet I believe. I just played a hand of the deal and got a beautiful pair of deuces so I only lost 5 cents. Hopefully someone will get the jackpot in the next 12 hours Smile

It's not the best promo ever but ill try to make the most of it. gl guys

play the deal ones every 12 hours, can be 7 points or 70. The share is equal for everyone, since it's divided by all the players that have played the last 12 hour.

But I always play at least two at teh same time, cause I hate to choose my cards, I rather have that they select 5 for me. I don't even want to see a possible royalflush that I might have if I clicked another hand. Tongue

With so many times being hit over the last days, you cant find any decent videos in youtube Smile

I was right yesterday morning to tell you guys to play the deal hehe! Won 2,43$ when somebody cracked the jackpot, so it's a nice return of investment on 7 cents. I think it's all about being smart and selective just like poker. Start playing the deal when the jackpot gets around 90k-100k. More people will be playing it so your chances of getting a return are a lot bigger. No point playing it when jackpot is low...

when the game appeared on the roofing to FullTilt I played it quite often and in the end I was lucky ... someone won the jackpot and I got about a $ 10 bonus ... but later I gave up on this game, and generally left with FullTilt .. had a nice room but spoiled PokerStars

well this the deal scheme is actually a very well thought out business affair from amaya... since some dudes limit themselves from gambling their cash away at the casino or just turn it off they figured out how to seduce unsuspecting public into playing casino games with the worst possible odds and actually make players think that they are participating in some great promotion...

Exactly. When I joined up that place more than a good ten years ago I never had problems finding promotions or profitable freeroll tourneys week by week - because back then this was all I could afford. Now its just a mess, even that I have a much larger bankroll to play around with.
