Colorado prison inmates may hold key to help solve cold cases, just by playing poker

Did you know that many States all over the USA are actually implementing this card program? The Colorado Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is apparently using a rather unorthodox way to try to have inmates provide information related to unsolved murders as well as other violent crimes within the state. According to 9news.com, the Colorado state has issued playing cards to its prisons, and each playin[...]   Read more » Colorado prison inmates may hold key to help solve cold cases, just by playing poker

I don't think i understand the reason why this program works, but they counted everything, and now have the numbers who say that this program is working and helping to solve some crimes, so it is a good thing to have this program in prisons.

I don't think that prison is the best place to find peoples giving tips to the police to arrest others.

You are in prison because you have committed a crime so i don't think you are very friendly with the police and help them to arrest peoples like you.

IMO those cards would be a lot better in the regular population that would be glad to help police. Question

I wonder how much longer we are gonna read for results from theories like this..
As long as there is humanity, right ? Smile
And it is a strategy also Smile
17 states so far in the program, and no results yet. Why is that?
And how you keep a "project" like this held in prisons secret from the public? Can you?

Exactly. Even if they would recognize some cases here and there they would only rat somebody out if that could shave some years off from their sentence.

This is quite a wacky story and i had to check the date( i thought it was April 1st!!). Seriously though, if they can solve at least one crime it would have been a worthwhile venture

I think it's pretty stupid program and this initiative will give police nikakoh advantages in solving crimes .... I certainly understand that the commissioning of the various programs of the organizers brings good income but it's just funny

Yeah, but do not forget the main reason they are there in the first place is them being dumb/stupid and get caught. Now, why would anybody utilize these people's brainpower - hardly any one of them is on Hannibal Lecter's level.

This is an interesting program offered by the Colorado Bureau of Investigation. I assume the inmate who provides authentic information about unsolved cases will receive a reduction in his prison sentence and/or get extra bacon and sausages on his breakfast plate.
