888poker accidentally launches new online poker game ‘Flopomania’ too early

For a good few hours on August 2 Wednesday, 888poker players were greeted with a surprise appearance of Flopomania in the real-money cash game lobby of the site. There was no prior announcement by 888poker about their newest game, and they never put up an introductory page of it on their site. Out of the blue, it popped up, with low to micro stakes game available. Once it was discovered, 888poker[...]   Read more » 888poker accidentally launches new online poker game ‘Flopomania’ too early

Means more rake from other reading, not good for rec's or reg's.

It sounds like a interesting new game these Flopomania. New poker games time by time are good for the motivation and to try some new diffrent games was a good education for the game Blink It seems, that 888.poker can grow step by step.

A family pot in every hand in Hold`em? This will play more like Omaha does. Just the swings on turn and river will not be as big, with just two hole cards instead of four. Hope this will not catch on.

I was wondering what the heck that was,I saw it in the lobby didn't try it,but saw the games in the lobby, then they had there issues, they issues me a ticket for not being able to play any of games i was registered for,it really didn't matter to much, cause they where freerolls,so its nice of them to issue the ticket for the 5k freeroll today.

I dunno this kinda sounds interesting, maybe increases the action and in a way makes the game more interesting, but this whole "accidental" release sounds a bit fishy, kinda suspect that this was part of the plan.

"Flopomania" is the best name they could come up with? Seriously? It sounds like a bad porno. Or Pastamania from Hulk Hogan. Of course, Hogan is now a in a bad porn vid too, right? The conspiracy theories are now starting to formulate in my mind. It's kind of sad really, that I think of these things. I should spend less time here at BRM.

Yesterday the 888 poker did not work for a while .... it probably was due to an ethical crash ..... but I was given a ticket to a $ 5000 freeroll that will be held today .... it's nice that 888 poker is responsive to its mistakes

Hello my friends and fellow mobsters

Can anyone xplain what the hack is that ?A new kind of poker a new variant or a totally new way of poker?
I don`t know but at least if made a big fuzz and hopefully it would be nice for the players not a game that ripps the gamers Aww crap! Aww crap! Aww crap!

Stay cool and enjoy life

It WILL hit the players. Usual approch (no flop, no drop) is not usable, as there is always a flop. So the room will collect rake for every single hand. And in a family pot it is more likely that two or more players have a piece of the flop, so the pot will be larger on average compared to normal games, resulting in even more rake.

I really wonder how that happened Smile
Maybe it was a quick test run to see how the game works Smile
But besides that, the game seem to be a bit more of a lotto.
And the "concept" is not bad, so more sites may be adopting it.

I'm really curious to see how these Flopomania games are. If they are good and do not last long may be beneficial for some players and this job with accidentally launches i do not believe it. I think it's a marketing strategy to make players more attentive. In this way they tried to see how things went.

Wow! “WrestleMania”? Oh, “Flopomania”! Is this affiliated with the WWE?
This new game seems innovative and interesting at first glance. But I don't think I am going to expend my own money on this game.

has anyone played the new spin n go max at PS? that is similar to the triple 8 spin n go where after a certain length of time everyones all in regardless....I can see PS copying this now since it can be used as a pure gamble

If this format will be successfull at 8-8-8, of cause the other rooms will try to establish similar games in their own client pretty soon. Even more so, as this variant promised to be a real rake machine.

This sounds like a good form of poker and i would be really interested in playing it. I always struggle with pre-flop betting and this would play into my, very limited, strengths

The game preflop I always liked .... because many players fold if they consider them unreliable .... on the other hand, if you immediately see the flop, you can make full use of your cards .... you should try and then solve it interestingly Or not ... I look forward to innovation

theoretically it will be a more fun game and I guess it's not a bad thing if you are just in the mood to spend a good couple of hours and not go against some sh1tty bot or super nit who will give you no action on you aces or even 26off. will be nice to see if this be a hit

They are trying to get more players involved in the game, with less action for it.
Less action, means less time, more games and of course more rake for them.
Everything in their power to rake the most out of it Smile
