Many governments saw that too much money was being spent on the internet and the state does not get anything so they seek a way to get some of that money of course this is unfavorable situation for players, gamblers but I think we can not do anything about it Sad

I got a solution for all Australians and online poker, put your hand in your underwear, if you touch something that feels like balls, your set, you are good to go, grab those suckers and do all you can, to stop your government from stopping you from playing online poker, but if you dont feel anything while your hand is in there, then im afraid theres little you can do, except bitch and whine Big Smile

Bad news, for the australians first and then for all the rest of the planet.
Another country that has messed it up for their citizens.
Land casinos must be very happy with this outcome.
Lets see, who will be the ones to follow.

I do not know why they will stop regular games. There may have been many players who made complaints or not. Maybe another is the reason. The thing is that governments are incapable of doing something right. They dream only money And the rest does not matter anymore. Because of governments many people suffer.

a lot of the times casinos have powerful lobbies and the Govt gets a nice cut from them, like here one casino wanted a conference center and so the govt helped them out big time even though the public werent in favor.

one up side is australia, like america has lots of poker action in the real world so casinos/clubs will only benefit more from this

It is always a very sad time when this happens and it is becoming a regular thing to read about. I cannot understand why these countries are stopping people playing poker

That was the case here in greece with land casinos, along with our official betting operator,
which was sold to the private sector.
Those where the ones doing everything in their power, for the legislation to pass,
to block online gambling.
And they did it of course.

And the whole get a license in order to operate legally in greece,
was just ashes in our eyes as we say, along with one more way for extra money.
They didnt care at all actually, if the sites would get a license or not. to
continue operating in greece.
That was not their main goal...

And of course it had nothing to do with the bull the kept talking about, protecting greeks
from the dangers of online gambling......

That's how the law works. Protects the strong people and with big money.Businessmen are in power. And normal people slowly get as few options as possible to play poker. The legislation in my country has stopped almost all poker rooms except Pokerstars, 888 poker and Unibet. The same with online casinos or online bets or agencies. I have few variants and for poker one option 888 Poker because for me pokerstars and unibet is garbage for real money. Aww crap!

yeah like robbo says I also think that this total blackout of online poker in Australia will benefit the real poker establishments, so brick and mortar poker will be booming in the coming months and years if of course situation with online poker doesn't change yet again.

This is sad to see politicians making such changes to Australia poker market and now all simple people who like to play online poker will have no chance to do this. So stupid, so online poker is something like drugs or pornography or selling guns. Why such stupid laws?
