When you are way behind and river a guy and say "sorry" do you mean it  0

So I lost a big pot when a guy hit a one outer on me. He drags in the pot and says "sorry" and I replied "no you're not".

Now I have done the same, and for me I sometimes feel guilty, though never guilty enough to want to have not rivered them. Other times I am quite pleased and I have cold beer after I river someone.

How do you guys feel when you river someone?

A lucky escape, is a lucky escape. No need to feel something. One should just analyse what lead to the shitty situation needing a miracle card at the river, and try not to repeat that mistake in future hands.

Nah,I don't get that either when some say's there sorry for calling, and winning....lol....I think or just say,if you sorry then maybe you r playing the wrong game,I am not sorry for winning no matter how it happens.(I will never cheat too win though,I know that pain of being beatin bye a cheater)
I do understand though what they mean,"sorry to beat you so bad it hurts" Big Smile Smile

Sucks when it happens too you but it's like the gods reached down and personally touched your river card when you hit so it comes back on all of us eventually.

Perhaps you're reading this wrong. "Sorry" doesn't always mean apologizing, it can be a general expression of sympathy. As in, "I'm sorry for your loss".
If someone is complaining to me and I say "I'm sorry" and they say "Why? It wasn't your fault", then I say "I'm not acknowledging responsibility and apologizing you a$$hole, I'm expressing sympathy!". Then they say "sorry" for pissing me off, and I say "apology accepted".
So let's say I see someone's short stack all-in after the flop looking to complete my straight or my flush. If they have an overpair down, then they certainly have the odds on their side. But I win on the river and say "sorry", I'm not apologizing but rather expressing sympathy for the guy who was legitimately expecting to win but didn't.
Not that I do it often anyway, but I have and seen others do it.

Ha, Ha, i dont think anyone really means it when they say sorry. If you are truly sorry when you win, surely you wouldn't be playing a game where there is money involved and would just play for matchsticks instead

well it really depends on the situation, sometimes I really do feel sorry for some dude not because I know him or such but because I think how sh1tty I would feel in such situation, especially if it's not a huge money to me and not the case with him then I might honestly feel sorry in such scenario

I also sometimes write such a word ... but it means that I sympathize with the loss of an opponent and I wish him luck ...... the opponent had a good card but after opening the cards on the table the win came to me ..... about such an explanation ... I personally have

well ofcourse that I am glad when I win such a hand no matter how many chips I have, but yes I write sorry sometimes and I mean it!if some donk is,ofcourse I am not,but when is some normal player and I pay him just because I have lot chips, sometimes I am sorry!

A well-dressed man is drinking at a hotel bar alone. A young, gorgeous woman (way out of his league) spills her drink on his crotch accidentally. “Oh, I am so sorry..,” she whispers in his ear. “That's ok. Let's get out of here,” he whispers her back, caressing her thighs.

To be continued...

rather relieved than sorry. just like shokaku said, if your not pot committed or something and your sorry on river, you have to reconsider your play.

I'm disappointed when i lose in this way. I also win on the river but the cases when i am losing are much more. If you play live is something else but when playing online with cards arranged by mathematicians in the softwares then you lose many times. I feel disappointment in all poker rooms. In pokerstars i feel disgust because is a horror camera poker with river

Well you are playing to win the game, either it is a tournament or a ring game.
So when that river comes, its an actual joy, deep inside your head Smile

But does that mean, that everyone actually thinks and behaves like that?
There might be some, that they really mean it Smile
