Maloof brothers bet $880K on Mayweather, will donate wins to charity

The size of the bet is believed to be the biggest ever made so far on this fight, and the boxing event is expected to be Las Vegas' largest show in recent years. The affluent entrepreneurs and ex-owners of the Sacramento Kings have publicly revealed their extraordinary bet last Sunday, two days right after they placed their wager at the South Point Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. In 2013, the Malo[...]   Read more » Maloof brothers bet $880K on Mayweather, will donate wins to charity

They must have placed their bet with unusualy bad odds. One can find far better ones on the net, but i have my doubts if a lot of online bookies are willing to pay out a cool million on the most likely outcome of that fight.

These rich people have nothing to do with money and i hope this fighter in ufc Conor McGregor to win the fight with Floyd Mayweather Jr. I want this because Mayweather has no defeat in the professional boxing. I would be curious his face or what behavior he will have if he loses that match.

I think that these guys bet looks pretty safe and they will be giving a very healthy donation to charity. Personally, i think Floyd will win easily but i really do hope that i am wrong and Conor shocks the world

Wow some people just have so much money that it is nothing to them yo lose almost 1 million dollars in one bet. I think if i have lot of money I still don't make such decisions, there are non profit organizations which need money and they make world better so i better just give money to them

People don't become wealthy by accident. Wealthy people take on projects and tangible ventures that result in real-life wealth. Taking a calculated risk is completely different than gambling. Taking risks is essential; gambling is foolhardy.

Of course this is a very large amount ... but certainly this bet will play .... I'm sure that the boxer will win the race .... the more they will compete in boxing ...... if I could I would also put a large amount Money for a boxer ...... but with my finances it will bring a small profit

well this is great pr if you ask me, then they just went to some other bookies and place a contra bet, so basically the most they are risking is some sort of bookie spread. sure this is only my wicked brain and in reality these dudes can be sleeping on sacks full of cash and couldn't figure out a better way to get some adrenaline flowing.

I am not sure he cares about his legacy more than the money this fight brings to him tbh.

for this boxing match, for me its sick that Mayweather will earn 350 millions $ from this match and this is not normal!why so big amounts for this two fighters!its match for history, but still this isnt sport anymore!

yeah the money tossed away for a single fight really continues to amaze me considering that from my personal view this is completely sh1tty sport that is not interesting to watch. no insults here, just personal opinion, so when I hear the millions people getting for a single fight I kinda have my jaws dropped right to the ground

Just bet $880k on the outcome, and any sport will turn out interesting. Blink

But yeah, a lot of money is floating around aimlessly and starts to turn up on many silly places. Just look at the latest transfers in football.

Does not donate some money from winning to bankroll mob to make some freerolls for us. Big Smile I'm joking, of course, but It's important that that money gets to those with problems or at an institute that helps people without it make fraud. It's nice when people are helped by those with money. Smile

as we all already know the bet played ..... and of course it would be a miracle if it did not happen ... the Irish sword got what it deserved .... and I'm sure that the fight would end in another 1 or 2 round if it were not for there was a decision not to end the fight too early ....

yeah have to agree with shokaku here, basically all the money that now is in the sport is actually ruining it, $100 millions are being spent on a single player without too much thought and this looks normal. surely this money has to be recouped somehow and this is where the dirty things start...

I still play circus or show everything that involves Floyd Maweather. I hope this donation of charity won in the bet is fulfilled, it would be a great gesture to highlight but I have my serious doubts with this sensational news where this sensational boxer is involved.-

I can honestly say after this boring fight that box as a spectacle is officially dead. I mean even a fight with gimmicks like this one is starting to wear off people. Imagine watching this without the personalities. No one would care.

Floyd Mayweather beat Conor McGregor by TKO in the 10th round yesterday. So the former Sacramento Kings owners won an $880,000 bet, pocketing a profit of approximately $160,000, of which they plan to donate to charity organizations.

A professional boxer like Floyd Mayweather Jr. with 49 wins of 49 (now 50 after this match with Conor McGregor) i think he would have spent a few months for crying if he had lost the match. It is true that he earns that money anyway for victory or not. He certainly was interested in not losing that match for his personal record.

$ 160,000 is certainly a good amount to help ..... but these people seem to me to take no chances .... the outcome of the battle was predetermined .... they could make a much bigger bet ..... but in any case this is a very good thing and of course they did a wonderful thing
