While 888 has introduced the new Flopomania poker variant, Stars has put its own Power Up variant out for Alpha testing. It is basicly a 3 player SnG with a second set of power cards, that can be used to influence the game. So moving away from classical Hold'em even more than 888.

Watched a video about it, in youtube, it looks like more like a video game now.
Didnt watch all of it, it was about 50 mins, to see what all the cards do, but i think its a bit boring.
If you want to play poker to win money, in a normal time of period,
that wont be your first choice of a game.

Eyactly. This is all smoke and mirrors for casual players. The poker boom is no longer in effect so they miss a lot of casual player body IMO.

Of cause it is for casual players. The rooms did make i quite sure that they will aim for those. They are the ones bringing in the money. The rooms want to take their share first. The interests of long time players are an afterthought at best.

Thanks, shokaku, for the information.
“Power Up”? That reminds me of “Super Mario Brothers.” I used to be a great Super Mario Brothers player. I once finished runner-up in the local championship when I was 11 or 12. I am still pretty good at playing any type of video game, actually.
Anyway, good luck to everyone playing “Power Up” on PokerStars!

Sincere this does not impress with anything. it's very hard to create a bankroll like this with such games. These games only help profit this poker room. My opinion is that i will not play. I prefer cash games, tournaments and zoom- snap. Power up is a waste of time and with extremely low chances of winning.

I think that this game for those who could not achieve something good in ordinary poker .... in this game there are many moments that attract the younger generation and why they will play this game ... but I'm old so it's not for me ... probably

holy sh1t sounds kinda complicated, but when the tendency is like shokaku puts it to move away fro traditional nl holdem in my situation I just tend to move away from online poker as a whole. maybe it has something to do with the fat that I horribly suck and have no money left to lose, or maybe it's just that the moon is shining too bright...

They way it goes they will make it an arcade game at the end to get even more
casual players. Smile
But that wont change the fact that the casual players, wont stick to the normal game,
after some time.
If you are going to be a grinder you start with basic holdem in my opinion.
It is just one more game to give it a bit more variety in choices.
Like when they added casino games for example.

Exactly, they are just like lil' kids with ADHD in a classroom. Hard to keep up their interest long.

Gaming companies don't treat people differently based on their level of education, mentality, and social class. They simply don't have to.
There are hundreds of thousands of players who have not been making money playing conventional poker games. Maybe most of them are just unluckier than others. Maybe their skill level has not been progressed over the years. Some of them might think that the entire world is against them. A hard reality: Pessimism gets you nowhere.

I don't know if i want this new game or concept or something like this, another game to learn and I do not see any reason to do this, now we gave nl holdem which is super popular and all world knows it and plays it and why should we change and start playing another game with similar rules?

As i said in another comment this only helps the pokerstars poker room. Why do they say that? because is the empty naked truth and money to do in this new type of game does not really exist.
Pokerstars has been wrong in recent years and continues to make mistakes. I would have some good ways to make money for the players as well but i think that amaya group will not accept this.

If i had to choose between the latest too "versions" of poker,
flopomania and power up poker, i would choose the first one.
It looks more serious to me and more connected to a real poker game.
The second one is a play money game, that you actually play with real money Smile

I will try to play these games Flopomania in 888 Poker just curiosity. If i like it i will play from time to time although I'm not a fan of these games for the moment. Are a lot of curious who is just waiting to play another variant of game. It's even better because there are other new variants but probably it's not the time to be launched.

Personally I think that these new poker modalities that have been released for 888 users like pokerstars are doing a lot of damage to poker in its essence. I think poker is one and these modalities created the only thing they do is to invent pavadas in order to collect dollars for the room as fast as possible.-

Yup! I saw this new alpha game the other night and made the decision not to entertain myself with it. I am also yet to give flopomania a go at 888 but that is merely down to available funds. Need to start building a bankroll now I am back and available for more poker time over coming weeks. Looking forward to seeing you at the felts.
