You know that feeling when you are in a big online tournament...  +1
And the blinds are going up quickly, you have double the average, nearing the bubble. Feeling ok, some room to at a minimum move up the payout table, with some decent cards you can build a stack and make a run...

Then you get the old "pay BB and SB on one table, we move you right into the BB on another table" trick?!?

Sigh...

I had high hopes, now they are dashed.

Didn't really understand what's all about this but i guess you where talking about taking a punt at a tournament , that you wouldn't be playing every day ?
If that's so , then here is a tip don't go over your bankroll , just because you want to play a tourney badly , as if you loose , you will feel your self bad , maybe go on a bit a tilt and play not your best poker ... To avoid that keep playing the stakes you are confy in and then , it's just a question of time when you will ladder up !

If 3 BB really ruin your tourney, you either didn't had a decent stack before, or the format ot the tourney sucked from the start. Just play tourneys with deeper starting stacks and slower blind increase.

Tournament structure was horrible, but, after you pay your blinds when they increase to such a high level you can go from just in the money to top 20% of the tournament within the orbit and with any luck, get to the final tables.

It happens from time to time and yes it can ruin your game as you describing it.
You have just paid for blinds for example and you have a whole turn of players, where you
can see hole cards for free, waiting for the bubble to burst.
And then you are moved posting the bb again Smile
It can be cruel some times, like 3 bb in a row or 2 bb and then a sb.
But on the other hand there are the tournaments, where you are moved every time you are about to post the bb or near it Smile
Anyway, better luck next time.

usualy almoust all poker rooms have rule about moving players... player that will be moved is one UTG which mean that in next hand he would be BB, but its moved before it... so in almoust all poker rooms you cannot pay BB and SB and than be moved on other table...unles you were 3 handed at table

I once had the pleasure to play in the famous Sunday million in pokerstars. At first i was enthusiasm about this but with the time but i started to be disgusted about how the game played at the poker table. PokerStars is never indifferent and i did not get a real chance to try and create a stack. Other players were stacking fast with normal hands but me i did not succeed because they all folded. I had the impression of seeing my cards or playing with bots. Aww crap!

you just played it too tight...

in that situation you should mix up opening some suited connectors, and gapers

yeah sh1t happens all the time and it comes in all forms and smell. what can I say, I too sometimes play too tight in tournaments and the increased blinds do hurt especially when yo are waiting for the right spot to shove and hopefully double up to get back tinto the running

It's not like i played too tight. I played exactly like them. I did not have that luck to win some hands like other players who have succeeded this. Something was dubious because to me they folded immediately when i had good hands or i raised and so i stayed with the bad impression. Probably the majority at big buy in use helpful programs.

its simple if they are too much folding on your opens, than you should open more... I would LOVE that evryone folds to my open... I would wider my opening range that my VPIP would be like 90 than LOL

Happened a lot to me too, sometimes I was in such bad position that I had to fold AQ, AJ and other good premium starting hands just because we were close to the bubble in a big tournament and had less than 10BBs...

Yes to me it is also happens, I sometimes have very small stacks in tournaments, so every time I have to pay small blind or big blind it is omportant money to my stack, and if I am moved to other tables and also have to pay small blind and big blind again I am al ost allin in this situation

Maybe you should adjust your strategy for tourneys. Being so low near the bubble that 1,5 BB hurt, will result in a few low cashes, but rarely more. And higher up is, where the money can be made in tourney play.

I guess those situations where you are really low on chips and sitting with a micro stack praying for blinds to not to come your way can happen somewhere near the bubble where you see a few more small stacks and think that you can timewaste your finish in the money.

Yes it would be a nice thing but it is not possible. With so many goood players will find someone to pay for some hands and it will destroy your chance. I know the poker game is quite complicated, but these people are playing in higher buy-in tournaments he can always change style of play. I should stay at lower buy in. 215 $ is too big for me if i play every week in sunday million.

But that goes against common sense - ie.: you are playing to win the tourney and not just get into the money. Op's fundamentals are all wrong on this IMO.

Believe me, I understand tournament strategy and fundamentals very well. Reading many books on the subject, from Lingren to Harrington and many in between, and having played 1000's of tourneys and sit and go's. I even have screenshots of some decent sized wins, and top 5 finishes.

Sometimes I will steal right before the bubble, but because of the poor structure, the BB will call if they have a stack, only people folding are average stacks trying to survive to the money also. It is the structure of the tournament, on the site and name I will withhold. After having tried to chip up many times early only to bubble, I have changed tactics to get into the money first before shoving to steal with below average cards. It's served me well with some final three table finishes, but the decent run to get to the final table and finish top 1% has eluded me.

It's too often the case with online tournaments which are designed to finish within two hours. Which is why many online players have problems adjusting to live, deep stack tournaments if they are used to fast structures. Now the deep stack, slow blind online tournaments are quite different of course.

Yes I too think to play deep stack tournaments i a good idea and such problems with too small chips stack and big blinds and small blinds taking lots of chips are not here anymore. I always like to play slow tournaments with many chances to increase stack and play many hands too
