Stars increases rake to 12% for most micro stakes games  0
Hey mobsters!!

So that is basically a 20% raise of the rake on most micro stakes tournaments/sit & gos now. Any other services would increase their fee by 20% and we would probably go out in the streets to protest... But they can do anything they want as long as us the players keep playing there. We need to take our business elsewhere.

I'm happy I don't play there anymore, I actually got my account hacked like 6 months back and they wouldn't pay back the funds so I uninstalled. I really don't like this brand anymore. I'm happy there is some healthy competition in the online po-ker market!!

I have asked several times why so many people play poker stars, I know everything about them poker stars is the most famous brand and security and all is true but the conditions for playing poker at poker stars are getting worse and worse long ago there is no good promotion, minimal bonuses,I can say I did not play poker at stars for over a year

so they want to take from majority of their players, who use micro stake, more money!this is not a good move from them!lot of people will think how this will affect on them!but ofcourse lot of players will still play at this site, because they like their promotions, bonuses or rewards!but this is not good move!

Poker stars are very Bad for different reason,i say this more as one time.Poker stars was one of my first site as i start playing Poker but Full tilt was better, then buy Poker stars full tilt and destroy the site. Then buy Poker stars Pkr and killed the next company.
I play by 888 and William Hill Poker stars will get not only one cent from me Big Smile

Purely a business decision from them. If people went elsewhere they would drop rate.

Players have no complaint, there are many sites to choose from. If they are playing there they are saying they are happy with the rake.

This is a significant increase in rake and fees, and it's not good news for PokerStars players. Didn't PokerStars jack up fees a year or so ago? I have stayed away from PokerStars for a long time and I have no intention of going back there again.

Its a shame! But if they do it, it's because it economically helps them. That is, they know that they will not notice a drop because people keep playing, and more and more people enter to play, especially at those levels. I play less and less in PS but I'm still there. I'm still looking for a better room. PS rewards system is disgusting

they are just "protecting" amateurs by making pros dont earn money... its simple like daniel said... and thats why I dont play on stars for more than a year... and I dont know but I think they are intentionaly killng pokerstars... I think that amaya bought pokerstars, and wanted to extract as much profit as they can in short amount of period and sell it...
It a pitty... pokerstars was realy great place with FPP's and stellar rewards and all kind of freerolls for all kind of vip lvl... it was rakeback paradise, and they respected players... now they are telling you "go phuck yourself" and most of their players will stay there...

You asked - why people play in Stars... Answer is simple - they have HUGE marketing... WSOP, WPT, EPT... I associate them just with Stars. I remember when I played there, that players may win even Porsche with game. And in the past, it was the most famous site... So people get used, that quality of poker = Stars.

Yes this is wery bad news, I think a lot of players will think that they better play in some different poker room, I played in pokerstars for do long time, I think it is something like 10 years, maybe I am wrong but very long, and now in year they are very different poker room that I do not want to play.

I hope this corporation or company Amaya Group to regret these mistakes very much. I hope the number of players in pokerstars will fall with 75% percents and never come back to play there. Owners of pokerstars became desperate for money and they have no good strategy. From my point of view, i would like the pokerstars to close definitively. For all players who want to play the right poker will have to do it in another room because Pokerstars becomes a vacuum cleaner to steal money from player accounts. Evil Sad Disagree Angry

some reason must be behind this!do they have big number of players who use micro stakes tables and they just want to earn more from them or they really want that people go away from them, time will show!but this can be very good for other poker rooms!

Mysik86 you have been writing well in your comment in the past Smile Big Smile We all talk the same about poker stars that is the best poker, best known, famous, but the problem is that the present situation is not favorable for us players

Of cause no one likes to pay higher fees, and so a lot of players want to switch rooms. But in my experience, the other big players, Party, iPoker and 8-8-8, all have a hefty rake at low stakes SnGs too.

of course, every poker room wants to make more money but this strategy is not good. In this situation will lose many players because they will make some calculations and they will not want to play there anymore. Will remain the good players and that will be very bad for them. With these circumstances
many will start playing casino and sports betting. Online poker is falling. Sad

Not good situation to see that pokerstars makes such bad things, it is for all to see that this is bad for players and pokerstars is not only poker room, so this result is that this room will lose many players and this is good for other poker rooms like party poker. I think i stop playing on pokerstars

It was something that would happen at some point.
They are the leader in the market.
They wont affect them that much.
The competition though is a bit stronger now i believe, si they may have to change things again in the near future.

Pokerstars are number one on the market but they will lose that position in future. They do not have good strategy and they always make mistakes. Instead of improving things they destroy them. Players will not be happy with these new rules and things will get worse for them.

A couple of years ago I read the news story, which had told that Pokerstars changed their strategy and from that time would focus mainly on recreational players. I think that most of recreational players will not notice this rake change. They are playing for fun, and don't care about losing some money or paying a little bigger rake.
