hey guys, i requested a $150 wire transfer from 888poker last week. after seven days it was in my bank account. only problem is i lost almost $50 from the transfer. this is my first wire transfer from any poker site. i've been playing for years at ps,ft,pp and now at 888poker. i know my bank doesnt charge any incoming transfer. i asked them beforehand. i know there will be a discrepancy because of the conversion ( dollar to peso. im in manila) but im sure it aint that huge for me to lose almost $50. i just wanna know if there are other fees i paid that i wasnt aware of. like, did i pay a fee for the service of 888poker's banking partners so they can send the money?... im not really after the money. $110 of the $150 i withdrew actually came from a $10 and $100 grand hand scratchcard i won. i just wanna know how this works.

I like to help you and answer questions but i fo not know anything about wire transfer, i only withdraw to Skrill and neteller wallets, but 50 dollars fee for 150 dollars withdraw it is very big, i think not more than 20 dollars can be
I got charged $15 bank wire for my last cash out at 888poker with poker stars and partypoker never any fees you can avoid this I think with an ewallet like instadebit.

< ...The ONLY option to withdraw from 888 to your bank in 'Canada' is just that...! You can deposit to 888 FROM InstaDebit,...but 888 will not send money to your InstaDebit or other ewallets for Canadians....!
... < I guess they don't want you using your profits for OTHER poker sites... ...or for that matter...re-deposing to 888 for bonuses and what have you...

Well flexibleeric, I did it in my country Argentina, and by Neteller. I never did it directly by the poker´rooms...any. In my case I did it only for try the sistem and after readed all the terms&conditions of the e-wallet. They taked a fee about 9 % in these time, but the real problem was the exchange. They offered me the 85 % of the value of dolar in $a....bad bussiness!
It still could be your bank. Yeah it is a bit high for a conversion fee but the actual amount of the transaction was the one you have read in the email you've gotten after requesting withdrawal from 888. Where did rest of the money go is most likely not their problem.

Being charged a total of $50 in fees to transfer $150 is ridiculous and painful. I haven't deposited or withdrawn funds via international bank wire transfer at 888poker or 888.com. I think I have used Neteller to deposit and withdraw funds before.

I don't know how it works, but I know that play directly to bank account may be pretty expensive. Like Skrill - from BRM I got always whole amount of cash, but when I try to withdraw that to my bank account (in my currency, because Skrill converse incoming payment, so I have cash from BRM in my currency already), they charge me about 9%.
But 30% of cash? I don't know whether is connected to the Phillipines bank? Or maybe different fees are for different countries?
What 888poker say about that? Did you check their informations in withdrawal section? I know, that the PS always have table with fees, etc. - here is from PS: https://www.pokerstars-01.eu/pl/poker/real-money/cashou... (in Polish), and I check and PS don't charge any fee for that.
hmm ... a loss of 50 dollars when translating 150 dollars ... hmmmmm .... it seems to me that the bank is a little insolent .... some unthinkable interest for getting money ..... probably you do not need to use this method of obtaining money .... there are many other ways

The charge is quite big for the amount you have transferred. It is known that banks charge in many ways. Also you may consider that in that amount there was a conversion fee also.
In the past i had made a bank transfer from an ipoker site, and the charge was ridiculous also. About the same amount, if i remember right. That was my first and last bank transfer ever.

Thats really hard ,i never hear before of so a great fee by a withdraw. I use the most times skrill,they have a prepaid MasterCard too for 10€ a year where you can go a ATM to get your money.
You only pay the cost from the ATM when you using a card and the normal fee from skrill. Maybe skrill is avaible in your country. I think its will be cheaper by your next withdraw. And you can look by other sites Like netteller,PayPal and so on,i dont know there sites but maybe they have prepaid MasterCard too. The prepaid MasterCard is a good Option when you want have the money fast in your pocket

i emailed 888poker and they have not replied. its been 4 days now. lol. i guess that's it.
like i said, i'm not really bummed about the money because i just won most of it from two scratchcards.that's also the reason why i tried the wire transfer. i knew it would cost me so why not use the free money to try the service. i guess i wont be using wire transfer in the future unless i could get a clear answer on how much are the fees really. plus the with conversion, i know i'm losing money with that to begin with. guess i'll stick with netteller.
as for my bank, they've been great. i actually requested them to try see where the money went. what fees did i unknowingly paid and hopefully, how my money was converted. i'm just waiting for their remittance team to send me an email.
btw, sucks that entropay just cancelled their service in my country. some european economic area rule or something. sad.

this must some big fee from your bank or from your country,some tax on gambling!I am sure that this cant be fee from 888poker and you must see laws in your country or some bank rule!cant believe how much money they took from you!

i'm pretty sure the issue is not in my bank. they don't charge any fees for incoming transfers. i'm sure about that. its probably the payment service that 888poker uses and how they convert the money. i know they convert it way less to protect themselves. plus maybe some charges that was deducted in my money. i mean,intl wire transfers ain't free.
anyway, lesson learned. intl wire transfers are expensive.lol

i'll check skrill. maybe i can use their physical card here.
i used to have the net+ atm card by neteller. it was the best because i live close to the central business district here in manila and the citibank branch close to me have the only atm in the country that dispenses dollar here. sucks that neteller stopped the use of net+ atm card here almost 2 years ago.

Be careful with e-wallet issued cards, since its a bit grey zone. It is not a credit card and not really a debit card - altough is usually treated like one. But if you happen to caught up in an identity theft by using your card at a bad place and they clear you out after it is going to be harder to recoup the money since skrill is not really great at consumer support.

You are a lucky man (lucky Phillipines!) because in my country here isn´t any ATM that dispense dollars bill- And by the way, Netteller is the best for me too! About the money, currency, banks, etc; recently I asked in my bank (a big one here) how I could send -transfer- dollars to United States, because my daughter was there. They would charge me $ 100 for any (ANY) amount that I want to transfer...crazy thing!!

I used skrill as they was moneybookers since many years without a Problem.And i have no Problem with the MasterCard, i have buy in different online shops without a Problem. And the card is Register on my Name. I can too use the card worldwide on atms.Its like a real MasterCard,but its prepaid,so you can only buy with money you have on your account. The only what i not can do with the card is deposit on gambling sites,but thats the rules for germany. And when you not have attention on your card and your number no support will really help you.Equal prepaid or your Bank card. I have the card only in my pocket when i go to a ATM.And sure you must have attention on your card and the ATM in these days but thats counts for all cards.
With the support i have no Problem sometimes there is a little bit slow,and you must write a secound time a E-Mail.But all my problems are have cleared by the support. The support its maybe not the Best,but its OK.

That's not true. If your card get cloned somewhere and somebody try to buy a pack of Marlboro/Amazon giftcard with it - let's say - in Peru, your bank will call/send you a text just to make sure you are doing it or not. Especially if it's a credit card because that is the bank's money. Skrill won't do this. I personally know some people who had a really hard time recoup their money from Skrill after being scammed somewhere with their card.
