So you can donate 50% of your profits to Project 150, you will have to win to recover your money back and to make a profit. This man proves talent and is possible to win money from poker. He is very generous and this is an excellent thing. Cancer is a disease who should investigated and people need to donate money for stopping this disease as much as possible.

in this story whats important is that mike sexton will sponsor his buy-ins and main question is will he need to back him first this money,if he come in prize pool,if he must return him,how they will share this amount and on end how much he will give to charity from this money!too many questions!

It is certainly extraordinary that a person is going to donate half of his profit to charity ... a good initiative from an unconditional champion .... I understand that this is a one-time action ..... and most likely this will not happen .... but the initiative itself is very cool .... good luck to him in the game

Wow such a generous move from this person 50% is gonna be alot of money.
Hopefully he is gonna keep playing good and winning more for generous thing he did.
Everyone should donate if they are good financially every dollar is worth.

I believe this game is known all over the planet, although there was never broadcasted
here. Winning so many games in a row is not easy, not easy at all Smile
He got sponsored to play the events, offered to give money to charity,
so it would have been great winning something.
Unfortunately, he didnt finish in the money.

In the USA that's just means he made half of his earnings tax-deductible - this is less about his generosity and more about his financial future.

Of course, it’s a pity that he didn’t get any winnings ... and so no charity will happen .... but in any case, people really help people .... so if now he couldn’t do it, then the next time will definitely help .. .. a wonderful initiative from a great champion of an interesting game ... maybe someone will repeat his initiative

I'm not liking these people who are advertising these things before they would win anything. It's ridiculous if they won't finish ITM after.

I agree with you .... if you won nothing, then I easily promise anything .... and then play so madly understand that you give the money to charity .... If you are lucky you win that well and if not, then that's okay will not happen .... that's why, of course, it is better to donate money to charity when it is already in your pocket

yeah,I forgot that they need to pay tax on this winnings!dont know how much do they take from them on poker winnings and what laws they have in las vegas, but if you say that is 50 % then its a lot!so he need to earn so much, that he can give half of winnings to charity and to back some money to mike who invested in him!

I hope that Holzhauer is successful and can donate 50% of his earnings to these high school students, a great demonstration of human quality that deserves my respect and admiration, I wish him the best of luck in the events where he participates so that these young students can receive a good donation

He's a smart man but he must accomplish one thing. If he wants to profit from poker James Holzhauer need to learn some good strategy from someone who know very good poker holdem texas. He can pay a professional for 2-3 days of lessons.

No, other than his generic income tax the poker earnings are tax free - especially in Nevada. But every donation to a charity organization could be deducted from your tax the following year - means he could pay less tax in relation with the size of his donation.

ah,I see what are you talking about!yes, americans have that law, when you make donation to some organisation, then they take this from your tax, especially companies to this things!but didnt know that in nevada is tax free, this is great news!I know that in america you pay tax on everything, but for nevada didnt know!

I know Bowie and is a good thing. The American government is too much greedy and with this law many people can be helped. It is a law that greatly helps people in difficulty. However, I hope this man will make money from poker, to donate for charity.

You still have to pay income tax like everybody else does it every year, but Nevada won't tax your winnings - say if you hit a $5000 jackpot with one of the slotmachines in the casino you will get the full 5k right away. Of course after this, the 5k will be part of your income that year...
Florida and Texas have the best laws when it comes to taxes on income and property - if you are planning to live in the US try one of these states first.
