Tomb Raider was introduced as a video game in 1996 and has since then become a well-known franchise consisting of video games, comic books, novels, theme park rides and movies. Tomb Raider centers on the English archeologist Lara Croft and her adventures around the world. In the movie series, Angelina Jolie has portrayed the character of Lara Croft with great success. Microgaming’s Secret of the Sword is an exciting adventure where Lara Croft battles evil doers on her way to secure ancient artifacts and such. Graphics & Sound
The graphic appearance of the Secret of the Sword slot is based on the video game look instead of the movie. This makes the slot machine miss out on including the beauty of Angeline Jolie and instead present a video game looking character of Lara Croft. On the plus side, the video game look has a classic feel to it that wouldn’t have been the same if the slot would’ve been based on the movies. The sound and music keeps a low profile in the main game but increases in intensity the closer you get to hit one of the bonus features. This of course adds a lot of excitement to the game.
Game Symbols
Lara Croft appears as several different symbols in the main game and this can be a little bit confusing as the Wild symbol is one of these symbols. The Wild will substitute for all symbols except for the scatter and the Passport symbol. The scatter is the Excalibur Key symbol and it will unlock the free game features. The Passport symbol activates the Global Adventure Bonus if you hit it on the center position of the reels. The lower paying symbols are 10, J, Q, K and A.

Bonus Feature
You have several bonus features in this game. The free spin feature is triggered by hitting three or more scatters. This will award you 10 free spins on a Rolling Reels system. The multiplier will increase by consecutive wins up to a maximum of X5. The free spin feature cannot be re-triggered during the feature and you cannot trigger the Global Adventure Bonus either.
The Super Mode is a random bonus feature that gives you 5 free spins. During these free spins, multiple wild positions are randomly awarded and held for the duration of the Super Mode.
The Global Adventure Bonus is activated once you get have collected the Passport symbol on the center position of all five reels. This is an ongoing process during the main game. Once you have hit the last of the five Passport symbols, the Global Adventure Bonus is activated and the game window changed to a world map where you travel to five destinations which all present a “reveal the sword fragment” feature. Your aim is to collect these sword fragments from all five destinations. But be aware, each sword game has traps that can end your travels early. There are also “hidden treasure bonuses” in each of these games which really adds to the excitement of this great slot machine.
