He won 3 bracelets in this year's WSOP - Is still without a sponsor

Tags: 2009 wsop, Jeffrey Lisandro, sponsor.
Posted on 09 October 2009 by "T".

Jeffrey Lisandro became the first person to win a World Series title in all three seven-card stud disciplines at the same Series when he won the Stud High, Stud High-Low, and Razz in 2009 World Series of Poker. Of course he has achieved so much more than this in his long poker career. However, after his great 2009 WSOP he started getting lots and lots of attention from media all over the world. But even though he has gotten all this attention, not a single poker site has showed interested in sponsoring him. How is this possible many people probably would ask themselves? Well, even Lisandro hasn't got a clue why his still without a sponsor.

-"There has been a lot of good things written about me in different poker magazines, and I have done a lot of interviews on internet. Still no one has ever offered me a deal. I must be a very valuable player for a lot of poker sites as I get a lot of attention in media? If I don't find a sponsor soon I probably start my own poker site and sponsor myself until someone wants to sponsor me"; Jeffrey Lisandro says.

I'll sponsor you!
I'll need $10,000 upfront though, to finance it.

GL in starting a new poker site these days ... poker isnt as popular as it was a few years ago, just face it. The field is crowded with sponsored poker players these days , soon it will be poker sites VS poker sites out in the field.

I didn't even know he played on-line tbh. He's a good player, but he hasn't got the best of reputations, especially after he tretened to take friedmans head of after 'ante gate' @ wsop lolz

Yes, I saw it on TV too. He was quite pissed off and did say he would take his head off. As for sponsorship, that is pretty impressive to win like that so I don't know why he hasn't been approached yet. If he wants to start his own poker site he has def. got some competition. I'll give him his props tho as being a good player

Maybe the sponsers are all busy looking at me ..lol
Why doesnt BankRollMob sponser him? I'll put a fiver in the pot....
 MANUEDO10/10/2009 19:56:23 GMT
The problem is that he doesn't play hold'em or doesn't win any bracelet in hold'em.
Con you like it or not but sponsors pay only if they are sure to have a big return.
It's the same difference between soccer and marathon:sponsors have no doubt.

So true, it's not like he won NLHE or PLO events, and the prize money was not all that really.

Shit, I don't trust him, going after the blue rinse bregade to make some cash.

lol thats funny " If I don't find a sponsor soon I probably start my own poker site".
With so many sites already and so stiff competition think he'll be better playing poker.
 SkorchX11/10/2009 16:11:18 GMT
I gues this was a joke. no one would be so stupid and start a new poker site now.
 JFugger11/10/2009 22:06:46 GMT
No it would be unwise to start a own pokersite, I hope this was a joke. But I guess there must be a reason why he doesn't get a sponsor. Maybe they already have enough pro's everywhere or maybe the financial crisis, who knows.
 raakapaisti12/10/2009 10:46:51 GMT
Ive heard that he is too known about his value and tells everyone who doesnt even want to hear about his succes. Too italian like Danny Devito. No pr value.
 JunkyMonkey12/10/2009 16:15:03 GMT
Didn't he say that he doesn't want a sponsor a few months ago??
 Fakiry15/10/2009 15:00:42 GMT
He sure got to be a person with really bad temper to all of the best rooms refuse to make a proposition. Why doesnt he goes after the sponsor, like a job, giving his curriculum and portfolio to the rooms? You never know...
