It's once again time for another big charity poker tournament. This time in the capital of the world when it comes to gambling, Las vegas. The charity tournament is scheduled to kick off 12th December at Hard Rock Casino. The tournament is set to benefit The One Step Close Foundation, a nonprofit organization whose main goal is to have an impact on the lives of those suffering from cerebral palsy by working with support groups, individuals who have CP, and by providing money for research.

The buy-in for the tournament will be $500+$50 and there will be unlimited $200 rebuys the first 90 minutes. Half of the money will go to charity and the second half will go to the prizepool. Some of the bigger names that will take part in the tournament are Phil Laak, Jamie Gold, Doyle Brunson, Eli Elezera, Men "The Master" Nguyen, Freddy Deeb, and Scotty Nguyen.

Wonderful idea.
This time Las Vegas will help people and for a time won't be seen as Sin City.
I like that so many pro will partecipate to this

Great to see this kinf of tournamnets, although they should be played more regularly.
It would be best if online pokerroms donate 1%-2% of their winnigs to charity.

pretty nice idea, that buyin won't hurt most of the poker pros and will generate a decent sum for the foundation too.

It would be really nice, but I think the most pokerrooms dont care about charities, they just see the money. Dollar Dollar Dollar Sad, but true... Disagree Thumbs Down

At least the big ones, like PS and FTP, should do smth like that, they've tons of Dollar ... Agree

great idea poker and charity go hand in hand..
Poker has sooo much cash spent on it in it and for it, its a very good way to get some of the more well off players to give a little back and still do what they love the most.... Worship
poker tours for charity get the thumbs up every time Thumbs Up

Looks like some big names will be going to this event. I think it is good when places like Hard Rock do charities like this. It is two sided, the charity gets to benefit from the event and the players still have a chance at a prize pool.

You say pokerrooms don't care about charities....
And you care? 90% people who say it's to low on it don't rlly do anythink.
They always remember when they hear about some actions like that.
Everyone want to get cash it's reality.
But nice things to do sometimes like that one.
