Amer Sulaiman never knew that his relaxing holiday trip in Costa Rica would be his ticket to become the first LAPT Season 3 Champion! What started out as playing on a whim, this man born in Iraq had never realized that his vacation would turn out to be a blessing and actually win a poker championship.  After four extremely tough days on poker, Sulaiman had successfully beat all his opponents and emerged as the winner.  He will be taking home the $172,095 prize money which is the biggest win of his poker-playing career.

Sol Bergren, coming up a bit short and earning the runner-up spot, was very disappointed because he said it was his third time in a major competition wherein he got second place again.  Bergren will use his $100,000+ winnings that he earned for second place to support his other world travels.  Bergren’s prize money on this event was his second biggest score of his young poker-playing career.

Below is the list of the final table results.  Take note that this tournament did not took place in Canada.

1st: Amer Sulaiman (Canada) - $172,095

2nd: Sol Bergren (Canada) - $100,492

3rd: Rogelio Pardo (Costa Rica) - $61,551

6th: Darren Keyes (Canada) - $26,380

lots of canadians in the tournament, but for a champion title the price pool seems to be kinda small. should be for the first place ~300K. How many players played here?

There were 259 players registered. The buy-in was 2.500 dollars so I think that explain why the fisrt place was "only" 172K.
I wanted to be there bout I could not qualify Sad.
Maybe next time.
