Tom "durrrr" Dwan, is one of the best and most well known high stakes players in the world. "durrrr" had a really tough start of the year and he lost a lot of money, but then he managed to win back everything he had lost plus a lot more. Now he's one of the biggest winners this year and once again he showed the world why he's one of the best high stakes players.

Thanks to his great success during his short poker career, he has been nominated to poker hall of fame this year. However, there is not a big possibility that he will be inducted this year as he's up against Phil Ivey, Barry Greenstein, Dan Harrington, Tom McEvoy, Men Nguyen, Scotty Nguyen, Mike Sexton, Eric Seidel, and Daniel Negreanu.

The unknown Swede
Usually everyone knows who all the players are at the high stakes tables at Full Tilt. But on Monday there was an unfamiliar face that showed up on Tom "durrrr" Dwan's table. The unknown Swede with the alias "martonas" ended up winning big against "durrrr". When "maratonas" had won about 550,000 US dollars from "durrrr" the heads-up ended. A great win for the Swede who remains unknown.

The only thing we know about him is that he has won around $960,000 since he started playing at Full Tilt, and that he plays Texas Hold'Em and PL Omaha at the highest stakes.

Its cool that he's unknown, Durrrr is my favourite player in the game today but competition is always good and i'm sure with his ability he'll make it back in no time. He'll be well up for e re-match no doubt, its not like he fears anyone (except maybe Phil Galfond) so it'll be interesting what lies ahead. A bit of mystery is good for the game. Its great that anyone (with the cash) can just log on and have a crack at the big boys. I don't think Tom will get inducted this year but to be nominated so young and to be included in that list of players is a remarkable achievement in itself. Well done TD. And i doubt he'll lose much sleep over the 550k..............

Looks like someone has been watching him, punishment is on its way.
Its far to early for tom to get inducted, and what for playing high stakes Omaha, far few years to go yet Thomas lets see if he can keep on the tracks.
Congrats to the unknown Swede, I guess this exposure will not keep him/her unknown for too long.

Perhaps this unknown guy was trying to see if he had a chance going for the durrr contest against whoever wants. Now he knows durrr is not unbeatable and pehaps we have another guy, besides that millionare you said the other day, going for the durrr contest. Lets see if durrr's carreer isnt going to get "hurt" with so many activity running less well...(and dont forget HU with patrick antonius)

They are still playing. But yes, the empire did strike back. And if you start losing at 1000/500 tables, you are losing a ton.

Just another day at the tables, for some.

Dwan will recover, he always seems to at least. It's amazing how he's won the biggest pot in high stakes poker history and lost the most in a hand online.
 ih8usukouts11/09/2009 04:21:15 GMT
I'm not bashing Durr, but I don't think his career has been long enough to be inducted yet. Not saying he can't do it, but life has lot's of challenges along the way that can throw a pro for a spin.
