PokerStars has just reveled that it will launch a new type of online tournament series next year. The name of the new tournament series is TCOOP - Turbo Championship of Online Poker and it will included 50 events that will be played with turbo and hyper turbo structures. The buy-ins for the events will be everything between $11 and $2100 and there are already plenty of satellites up - running around the clock.

To make sure that TCOOP will become a huge success, PokerStars has guaranteed $10 million in prizes in the series. The biggest chunk from that guarantee has been given to the main event that will be played on January 29th and have a prize pool of amazing $1,500,000.

TCOOP begins on January 19, so there is still plenty of time to practice turbo and hyper turbo tournaments at PokerStars. If you don't have an account on PokerStars already, we can offer you a 100% up to $600 bonus on your first deposit.

TCOOP schedule:

This is what s wrong with poker on pstars. Every damn tournament is becoming hyper or turbo. Hope they wont start with 500 chips lmao.

This looks like a very well defined strategy to prepare Pokerstars for the restart of FT. I am sure FT will want to start the best way possible, with extremely attractive campaigns to end with all the bad image of not paying withdraws and reconquer players. If promos are that good, that can provoke a little shake in Pokerstars, which they will notice in the balance. With a new promo, new money is going to win.

Well it's normal tournaments start to become more and more turbo on pokerstars.
- Alot of people means alot of signups. More signup = longer tournaments... So a tournament lasts at least 5h+ ! Turbo makes this better for the people who only have 3-4hours.
- The sit will have more rake in shorter time. Obviously.

Sounds good, in fact i always liked fast tournaments with one condition actually: On some fast tournaments many play poker as bingo...

Other that that i have nothing to comment about fast tournaments.

Been looking forward to this for a couple months already (it was scheduled via 2+2 forum like 3 months ago already) Smile turbos/hypers ftw
Just a bit annoying that there's a lack of low buy in tourneys (they couldve at least put up a few) so probably gonna have to sell %'s to play the $33/$55s at least :x

I do not like to play these turbo or hyperturbo tournaments, I think it is no fun in playing them, I most play regular tournaments.
 grahamy2722/12/2011 04:03:40 GMT
will be pretty good but as someone already stated there is definetely a lack of low buy ins and the only low buyins are rebuys which i h8 because it is then turned into bingo as people have the safety net of buying in again!!
and as for people talkin about FT i would stay well clear as the guy that is buying it is a crook, hes banned from owning another football team after what he done when he owned olypique marseille, also ineligible t orun for government and has been completely bankrupt, i will definitetly be stayin away from FT

Yes, we depend on luck so much to win at that MTT. To fast reach push or fold phase, cann't enjoy poker. If we look for money is ok. Championship freezout more likely
 pochui22/12/2011 13:57:08 GMT
oh right turbo's and hyper turbos's especially are the best form of poker- because it ultimately shows the real truth - luck wins it on the day...and i don't see big reason to sit 4 times longer to eventually be sucked out by nasty river...the quicker the better imho...
 mazas24/12/2011 12:10:24 GMT
