European Poker Tour Grand Final moves to Spain

Tags: EPT, Madrid, Monte Carlo.

For the last few months there's been rumours flying around, that the European Poker Tour would be moving the Grand Final event from Monte Carlo to another location. Speculation's suggested pretty much every high profile European city - and some less-than-high-profile cities. Now it's finally decided where it's headed.

The Casino Gran Madrid in Madrid, Spain will host the Season 7 EPT Grand Final from May 7 - 12.

"We wanted somewhere new, dynamic and inspiring, and knew that Madrid would tick all the boxes for the travelling poker player, regardless of age or desires," said EPT Chief Executive John Duthie. "The same familiar team will be running the event and the schedule will, I am sure, provide something for everyone."

For those curious, the legal gambling age in Spain is 18 years old.

Very envious of the Europeans / spaniards. Been to Europe 3 times from north to south and the poker fans won't have far to travel if they would like to attend. Would love to be there, but will probably be reading about it on BRM. One jealous American

I bet it will be possible to find lots of players from Portugal in there, being a neighbour country. And it would be so nice if portuguese players could behave nice there. There are great names here, like Founder, which is defenetly going to be there. He is just a kid, but you don't want to be in a table with him. Very tight agressive, and very good table history. Look out for Founder, i will be pushing for him!

Yes, Spain is cool, a lot of sun, bullfighting and Flamenco! But not is real! Spain now is immersed in a great crisis. Over 4M people don't have a job. I live in Barcelona not in Madrid, but I've been in there several times. Cool town but beware in which some suburbs ... or you won't left alive!
Poker in Spain is growing up but we need some years to have first line players.
