Erik Seidel overtakes Ivey on Poker's All Time Money List

Tags: daniel negreanu, erik seidel, phil ivey, pokers all time money list.
Posted on 02 March 2011 by "T".

2011 has started in the best possible way for the American poker pro Erik Seidel. Already has he made it to the final table in not less than 6 major poker tournaments and won some serious cash! However, the win at the WPT LA Poker Classics High Roller event, which was played a few days ago, must have been very special to him as he overtook Phil Ivey on Poker's All Time Money List.

Erik Seidel has now won $13,95 millions (50k more than Phil Ivey) and is now "only" $160,000 behind the leader, Daniel Negreanu. It will be interesting to see how this list will look at the end of the year. The top players in the poker world play so many tournaments, with large buy-ins, that it might change just in a week or two. Yes, when 2011 kicked off, Phil Ivey was in the lead. Now, only 2 months later, both Negreanu and Seidel have passed him.

You hate him??? Hate is an awful strong word. I hate tyrants, bullies, dictators, and pepsi. To say that you hate someone is just wrong. Especially when they are JUST a poker player. This is just wrong in my opinion. Worship Aww crap! Worship Thumbs Up Worship

Eric is very classy player and I am glad to see him first on that list. He is definitely one of the best ever...

Imho it's fair, I don't like Ivey and lately I've getting happy because this year doesn't have started well for him ( or as well as he thought ).

What are you talking about? He is a typical TAG with almost flawless style. I can understand when people say they don't like Gus Hansen's style, or Mike Matusow's, or Lederer's, or Helmuth's. They are great players but the style can be debated. But Seidel....Every year he is winning... You can watch him play for hours and days and he will not make a single wrong move.
To add to this he is a gentleman of poker, he has very sane political views and a very active social position. He also has great sense of humor. You just need to know him better. Just follow him on Twitter.

Go get'em BMWmman: I'm with ya, don't like the word "hate" don't allow it in my home or use it myself. Most people don't acknowledge the strength in this word. I see u do!

I totally agree with your every word, up until the last sentence . . . ughhhh, I can't stand Tw1tter, and will never join it L0L. Tongue I see the Forum censored it after you posted as well, LMA0, that's why I edited how I spelled it to make sure it appeared when I replied. Still, you make a very good point . . . hating his style is one thing, but why hate one of poker's best ambassadors of all time?!?!? Question Question Question

Seidel has been at this for alot longer than Ivey or Daniel so I'd expect him to be on of the top money earners of all time. Ten years from now, the all time leaders are going to look somewhat different.

This just shows this guys play real big money. $13 in two months? I haven't done $13... Well, i did, but i also lost it. And nothing says that we will remember Erik when we reach the end of the year. Things move really fast around here, who says he will continue this way? I make around $250 per year, but i can only count it when i see the historic of my acounts. $2 buy-in SnG and won $4, but then i lost 2x another $2 buy-in SNG. In the end, lots of money passed by my hands, but i lost it all. That's life...
