Rui Cao speaks out about the sick cash games in Macau

A few days ago, the French-Chinese high stakes player Rui "PepperoniF" Cao wrote some interesting things in his blog about the extreme high stakes games in Macau. Cao writes, for example, about private games where the pots are as much as €500,000 and that it's normal that people win/lose more than double that amount in just a day. He also writes who takes part in these games.

"Most players are Chinese with a lot of money. But there are also some well-known poker players like Phil Ivey, Patrik Antonius and Tom Dwan. Patrik Antonius has been banned from these games because he played too tight and started too many prop bets." Cao writes in his blog.

Rui Cao is one of the biggest winners online in June with profits of around $500,000. And he's up almost $1.3 million for the year so far. However, those winnings can disappear in no-time when you play for high stakes in Macau.

"A lot has happened since I arrived in Macau. I played my biggest negative session and played the biggest pots of my live, both online and live. There are a lot of swings and excitement! I started out with a big loss to Antonius. I decided to take a shot, and I think I clearly have an edge over him in the long term. True, I lost around $800,000, but no whining allowed," Cao writes

Chinese are mad about gambling, everyone knows about it. In Portugal you can see them in the casinos just throwing money to the table like if it was peanuts. This isn't madness. THIS IS SPARTAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!! Big Smile

Cao is in the right mood to go ahead to the next fight against Antonius, or any other player. If he has experience in Macau's high stakes like he says, that can be an advantage for him, but this letter seems more like a way to show strength to Antonius. Lets see if it works.

it seems poker pros are more interested in prop bets than live poker itself. and how can you ban a player for being too tight, sounds way too stupid to me. looks like patrick will hav to find another place for his prop bets lol

why is it so funny for him to think he has an edge over patrik? is he some sort of poker god? he is really good but but he is not a god that cant be beaten. strange he has been banned for being to tight not what patrik is known for maybe the games there have been that crazy it has freaked even him out, sounds strange but maybe

I don't think thats true, they can't ban you for the style of poker you are playing, if all are maniacs these doesn't mean you need to be like them. And yes, it seems chineese like to flip on poker and basically take poker as a bingo game, like other people from others regions in fact. Disagree Disagree Disagree
It's your money and you can do anything with it but if you want to play poker as bingo it's your choice so probably patrik antonius doesn't want to go to macau anymore than getting a ban from the chineese, i think he played tight and when he got a good hand he got the most out of it, and thats why he was on profit as he told in an interview recently Big Smile Big Smile
One thing is sure for me, Patrik Antonius >>>>>>> Rui Cao at poker , on any game, even on pot limit omaha
Big Smile Big Smile

Selfprotection. Otherwise he had to admit that he plays in games he shouldn't be playing, 'cause the opponents are better.
