 A big congratulations to the 3 new The Women in Poker Hall of Fame inductees - Kristy Gazes, Margie Heintz and Phyllis Caro. Caro is the director of poker operation at Hollywood Park and is married to poker pro and author Mike Caro. Gazes has over $1 million in tournament earnings. Heintz is credited as the first women to ever deal at the World Series of Poker and even dealt at the 1977 WSOP Main Event final table that was televised on CBS.
The official induction of these 3 players will take place on September 2nd at the Golden Nugget in Las Vegas. At the event will also be already inducted players like jennifer Harman, Linda Johnson and Marsha Waggoner - 3 players who have contributed a lot to the game for many years.

The Women in Poker Hall of Fame, founded by the Ladies International Poker Series and sponsored by Card Player Magazine is designed to honor women in poker who have acquired prominence and have made contributions to the poker world. The Hall, with this charter induction in 2008, also recognizes other friends of Women in Poker Hall of Fame who have contributed significantly to women in poker.
Our goal is not only to honor these wonderful women, but to contribute to causes that benefit the community as well. With that vision in mind, WiPHOF is proud to partner with Poker Gives.
Poker Gives is a charity organization who's mission is to provide financial aid and humanitarian efforts to mainstream charities through support from the poker industry. Collectively this industry and the players have an opportunity to actually make a difference and to create a better world by providing a variety of social services to those in need.

I never heard of any of this women. Being portuguese, a country that doesnt give much atention to this game, is a disadvantage, and online one always tend to pay more atention to male players, media is always focused on them.

The women is the next power in poker dude. They have the feelings to change the game.
In my country, Brazil, they are already the best players on field.
The reason is a game level of pacience and determination to do the right move.

Kristy Gazes is a pretty good tournament player! I don't know the other ones, I didn't know you didn't have to be a player to be in the hall of fame.

Women are not absent from beside the poker tables! This man is very much the same way you see professional players. Women enrich a level of competition, and last but not least a very difficult job for men! A woman's intuition important thing in poker, so there is already a world-known and powerful women's player!
Congratulations to the three ladies, this is a great recognition in the poker industry!
