On Sunday night, as a part of PokerStars SuperStar Showdown, Viktor "Isildur1" Blom and Isaac "philivey2694" Haxton sat down at four $100/$200 No Limit Hold'em tables with $300,000 each. Blom, who lost the previous SuperStar Showdown against Haxton, took the lead straight away and was up $70k after about 500 hands of play.
Isildur1's lead grew to $95k after the match had been going on for an hour. At that point not only had the poker gods turned against Haxton but also his Internet connection due to stormy weather in Malta, where he's currently residing. The heads-up went on a break for about 40 minutes before Haxton managed to reconnect again.
Then it only took 5 minutes before he lost the connection again. The tournament went on another 30-40 minute break. When play picked up for the third time they only managed to play 11-12 minutes before another blackout.
Isildur1 and Haxton decided to stop playing after this and the game will resume tonight at 2pm EST (18:000 GMT). In total, 692 of 2,500 hands have been played and Isildur1 is leading by $100k. It will be interesting to see if Haxton can get back into the match with his remaining $200,000.
