"Phil Ivey" won over $600k last week

Tags: high stakes, phil ivey, pokerstars, raiseonce.
Posted on 20 March 2012 by "T".

The anonymous poker player RaiseOnce did very well at PokerStars nosebleed tables last week. In total, he won $625k from different high stakes regulars last week and ended up as the biggest winner online - about $150k more than the second biggest winner, Terje Augdal from Norway.

So, who is the person hiding behind the alias RaiseOnce? Many say that it is no one else than Phil Ivey. Something that might confirm this is that Phil Ivey has a house in Mexico (the country that RaiseOnce is playing from), and that his style of playing poker is the same as RaiseOnce's.

The previous week's biggest winners and losers:

RaiseOnce, $625 838
Terje "Terken89" Augdal, $471 038
Phil "MrSweets28" Galfond, $446 263
EireAbu, $310 787
Benny "toweliestar" Spindler, $285 850

Ilari "Ilari FIN" Sahamies, $-447 503
Viktor "Isildur1" Blom, $-310 161
Ben "Ben86" Tollerene, $-250 646
Ben "Sauce123" Sulsky, $-238 530
Johnthefast, $-224 001

I think all those players play only with playmoney dollars to provoke some noise in poker world. Thay work for month payments from poker house's. If I get in there with my money software will bust my whole bankroll. So be aware you with spare money.

whoever he is.. he is winning huge bucks..
 pochui20/03/2012 17:43:42 GMT
whoever he is he is probably hoping that he didn't raise his account once...lol seriously these nosebleeders are just showing the same cash over and over again through the hands of each other, and in the end they just loose huge just on the rake- every hand they play gets raked at a dollar- so it cost 0.5 dollar just to play- so in one night they ship around 200-500 dollars for rake- and multiply this by around 300- and you get a cool 100K just for rake yearly!

It has been a while since the last time Phil Ivey came on the news, now he is back and it’s for a good reason! But now we have two unknown players doing history at the poker scene, who are getting the attention of everybody. When will the poker community find out about who they are, RaiseOnce and MaiseE?
@iknezov7, your thought is amazing, it is hard to understand how can someone really believe someone puts all this real money in a table while playing cards. Of course they play with fun money. These guys are paid by the poker companies to play eight hours a day in the room. When becoming known and having their names replied in the social media, the companies give them a bonus. They are just publicity, campaign, they attract unknown players who will enter with real money and that is how the company have profits. Simple minded will believe there are people who wins all this money and plays with this amounts and they also try to get there investing in the tables. Dreamers with lower amounts of available money also want to get rich on the tables and do exactly the same, being attracted to the announced fortunes that are advertised in the sites, although they invest less, but poker companies appreciate all the values that goes in.

If they work to a poker company, they can have some “advantages” when compared with their opponents at that company. But when the game is out of the company where they work, against pros playing in a competitor site, there they only have their knowledge against each others. Do you believe all that money announced is just marketing? Do you know how much does it cost publicity in television? If they occupy all that space with a televised program many people will want to see, they have to pay millions for it, and publicity will help to pay all of those costs, and also their prizes. It can be far from our simple comprehension, but it is true and it happens nowadays, although there are people starving to death in other parts of the world.

well sometimes i look at those high stakes games,i cant say that they play bad,but the way how they deal whit the $$$ they put in some pots, that's 4 my opinion not normal, the money they put in a pot,is for a lot off us so damn much
some, like me,dont even earned it for the rest off my life,nd the way i see it,it doesnt have nothinf to do whit poker, coz i saw a pot off isilder1 vs p antonius
when Blom went all in whit a pair 8's wich he called for "just "436k ,those players dont know the value off money anymore, and for the most rich people
is for them always the same: how rich a person is,the rich ones are also the selfish one's off the world,There is a Sultan off Brunei estimated is that he owend almost 100 Biljon dollars,he give party's for his 24 daughters,to book
M.Jackson,M Carrey,or he invited the womans off miss universe and give the lady's gold, daimond,a lot off money,if u see his bathroom, evrything is made off 24 k off pure gold,he sh..i.t. on a toilet seat full whit daimonds and the seat is made off solid gold, but does he care about the poor people in his country? hell no,also he whit ( 100biljon) on his bankaccount is thinking about himselfs.....

I AGREE IKNEZOV7,TELL IT LIKE IT IS
 hulkborges25/03/2012 05:41:16 GMT
I really am a fan of this guy, I tried to study the style of his game a few times to improve my, I can say that until a little better, just do not understand why he would now be hiding behind that name, is it so scary to play well against phil ivey? maybe one day I will have the chance and get the answer
 mahdrof25/03/2012 10:38:19 GMT
I wouldn't be surprised if it is Phil Ivey, the guy has definitely proven that he can win at all levels of poker: tournament, cash, online. The thing about Phil that makes him so difficult to play against, even for the pros, is that you can't tell if he has a monster hand or is pulling off a stone cold bluff. It's always easy to make decisions when you are watching him on TV and you know his hole cards, but if you had big bucks on the table and he re-raised the crap out of you what would you do?
 ProBucurest112/04/2012 16:23:36 GMT
I am pretty sure this person hiding behind the alias RaiseOnce is anyone else that Phil Ivey.

Kind Regards, Costin
 kwasac23/05/2012 16:43:15 GMT
I am 90 % sure thats not Phil, and i am 100% sure that IS Phil Ivey! xD
 deqwer23/05/2012 18:03:25 GMT

 noonlion23/05/2012 18:13:28 GMT
Old news...

Who knows if it is actually him, only his friends will know.

Ivey has disappeared since the whole FTP stuff..whats he been doing?
 thenwlegend23/05/2012 18:29:31 GMT
If it were a new poker player im sure they would come forward with a name... It's probably a poker pro and if they play the same as Ivey then more than likely it is him....
