What has happened to Ilari "Ilari FIN" Sahamies' game in the past few days? Up until last Sunday, he was the biggest loser online this year, with over $1 million in losses! Now, 3 days later, he has won back about $750,000 and nearly eliminated all the losses! Very impressive and kind of crazy at the same time.

It all began on Sunday evening when Sahamies played $50/$100 and $100/$200 PLO for 4,5 hours and won $143k. The very next day, he played over 1000 hands of PLO against players such as Ben "Sauce123" Sulsky and "Fake Love888" and got away with a $277 profit (about $200k came from "Sauce123").

Yesterday the winning streak continued for Ilari Sahamies and he finished the day with a $270k profit (over 2,500 hands played). A large portion of these winnings once again came from Ben "Sauce123" Sulsky on a $100/$200 PLO table. In total, Sahamies won $131k from "Sauce123" in the session, and it was mostly thanks to taking down the 2 biggest pots of the night that Ilari ended up as the big winner of this action-filled heads-up match.

POT 1

Sauce123 ($56,269) kicked off the action by betting $600. Ilari FIN ($101,446) raised to $1,880, Sauce123 called.

FLOP 5Club4Club3Spade

Ilari FIN checked, and Sauce123 bet $1,888. Ilari FIN raised to $9,502. Sauce123 called.

TURN 8Spade

Ilari FIN bet $22,842 and Sauce went all in for his last $44,887. Ilari FIN called straight away.

RIVER 5Diamond

Ilari FIN showed 9Heart7SpadeASpade6Heart for a flopped nut straight.

Sauce123 showed 2Spade6Diamond3Club4Spade for a straight 6 high.

Ilari FIN took home the pot of $112,538

POT 2

Sauce123 ($48,938) bet $400 from the small blind. Ilari FIN ($107,605) raised to $1,080, and Sauce123 reraised to $3,900. Ilari FIN called.

The pot is $7,840 when the FLOP 7Heart5Club2Spade landed on the table.

Ilari FIN checked. Sauce123 bet $3,222, and Ilari FIN raised to $11,800. Sauce123 fired $43,318 into the pot. Ilari FIN answered with a reraise to $74,836. Sauce called with his remaining $1,700.

Ilari FIN showed 5SpadeKSpadeKHeart5Diamond for three of a kind 5s
Sauce123 showed 4SpadeJDiamondAClubAHeart for a pair of aces

The TURN 9Heart and RIVER JClub was to no help for Sauce123 and Ilari FIN won the $109,636 pot.

Did his girlfriend wrote him a “Dear John” letter? Can there be any other explanation for such a boost? Three consecutive days full of money entering in his pockets, looks like he is unbeatable. If I were him, I would purpose some HU with some of the big names, like Blom. This seems to be the best time to try to beat him. The question everyone is making now is: How long will it take?

well those two monster pots of the session showed that sauce was a bit too hot for that night- making big calls and even reraising when having second best hand or drawing not to the nuts- hey it's plo and i'm not a huge advisor, but it looks that sauce lost his head a bit

You are right, i think ben was a bit on tilt actually and made those calls...

Still a really nice comeback from Ilari, i think he actually recovered half of his loses in just two days Big Smile

Oh well, making you opponents tilt is part of skills. Sahamies is a really good PLO player, has lost his head several times too but I think he doesn't drink as much now. Maybe that helps, maybe not Big Smile Anyways I think you have to be a lil crazy to play those stakes, especially in PLO!

Sometimes i wonder why people look up to these guys when you see people like Isildur1 win millions at FTP in a very short time then loose almost all in 1 day. Then he gets a contract with PS and go up and down by the 100dreds of thousands all the time....Is this the kind of poker player we want to be..?
Sure its exiting but when you see some of the plays these guys make with that kind of money i think they are no better then most of us...they just have a lot more money

That may be true aatje, but the truth is it has been given them the option of having a career as professional poker player in one of the biggest poker companies because they showed (if not all, at least some of them) to be able to get huge amounts of money before they had access to all of it. Many of these pros won big tourneys and many good prizes before they reach the sponsored level and that was how they got to this profession. Others, even not winning a big one, won several “less big” events, making them reliable as bets for the poker companies to invest on them to play on their side and win even more, as for them as for the company.

I dont say dont look up to ANY player because there are many with great live results and online results and deserve to be the face of for example Pokerstars like Daniel Negreanu has been for years..
