In case you didn't read our news on Event #24 (Omaha Hi-LowSplit 8-or-better) this morning, we can inform you that Phil Ivey (8 WSOP bracelets), Scotty Nguyen (5 WSOP bracelets) and Joe Cassidy were the last 3 players fighting for a first prize of $294,777 and a gold coveted bracelet.
About 2 hours ago, Day 3 came to an end and unfortunately Phil Ivey, who finished 2nd in Event 17: $10,000 Pot-Limit Hold'em a few days ago, has once again missed out on his 9th bracelet as he was eliminated in 3rd place by Cassidy.
Tomorrow at 2 PM local time play will resume with Joe Cassidy holding a 3-1 chip lead against legend Scotty Nguyen. Cassidy has cashed in quite a few WSOP events in the past years and his total tournament winnings exceed $1,3 million, but he's still looking to win his first gold bracelet.
It will be interesting to see if he can keep a cool head tomorrow and defeat Scotty Nguyen, who has 37 cashes and 5 gold bracelets on his WSOP CV. May the best player win!
