A total of 55 players entered (nine €48,500 re-loads) entered the EPT Barcelona Super High Roller (€50,000 buy-in), which generated a total prize pool of €3,072,960 - the richest tournament ever held in Spain! It ended up being Dan Smith, 23, who took home the tournament for impressive €962,925 after defeating well-known Mexican pro JC Alvarado, 27, heads up.

Smith, who comes from New Jersey but now lives in Toronto, Canada, has had an amazing year, beginning in January when he won the Aussie Millions A$100,000 Challenge for more than A$1 million. He cashed at EPT Berlin in April and then won 3 separate €5,000 events the following week at the EPT Grand Final. But that's not all. He also cashed five times at the 2012 World Series of Poker, including a third place finish in a $5k NL event for $368,943. His total live tournament winnings now are more than $4 million - $3 million of those winnings come from this year alone.

Super High Roller Results:

1. Dan Smith, €962 925
2. JC Alvarado, €788 674
3. Mike Watson, €399 500
4. Ilari Sahamies, €291 900
5. Mike McDonald, €215 100
6. Erik Seidel, €153 600
7. Talal Shakerchi, €138 300
8. Jim McCrink, €122 960

That seems to happen - players go on shit hot streaks.

Same for Trickett, same for many at the WSOP. Guess its a confidence thing.

But that's a sick take down...Ilari won some money too...lol
He probably reloaded 9 times...

for me the most interesting thing was to find ilari sahamies near the top- maybe he will have enough Dollar to repay loans or at least some of them...so a great chance to see the epic series of posts "sahamies won half a million yesterday/ sahamies claims he is broke today" gonna continue for a while Big Smile

The participation was great and also the first prize was also really consistent, it was actually more than the 1 mil prize from carraibe.

Also nice to se that Ilari played and won some cash, maybe we'll see him back on stars after this Smile

Saw Dan Smith take down the Aussie Event too..
Definitely making a name for himself after dropping out of college.. Stay in school kids or you could end up a millionaire playing poker, Kind of ironic...
