A total of 55 players entered (nine €48,500 re-loads) entered the EPT Barcelona Super High Roller (€50,000 buy-in), which generated a total prize pool of €3,072,960 - the richest tournament ever held in Spain! It ended up being Dan Smith, 23, who took home the tournament for impressive €962,925 after defeating well-known Mexican pro JC Alvarado, 27, heads up.
Smith, who comes from New Jersey but now lives in Toronto, Canada, has had an amazing year, beginning in January when he won the Aussie Millions A$100,000 Challenge for more than A$1 million. He cashed at EPT Berlin in April and then won 3 separate €5,000 events the following week at the EPT Grand Final. But that's not all. His total live tournament winnings now are more than $4 million - $3 million of those winnings come from this year alone.
