On Thursday, a total of 52 players returned to play Day 2 of Event #5: Mixed Max (No-Limit Hold'em). Jennifer Tilly had the lead when the day started and Faraz Jaka was the closest opponent.

After several hours of 6-handed action, just as planned, the second day of the tournament ended when 16 players had chips left, and both Jaka (3rd place with 258,100) and Tilly (9th place with 163,300) were among the survivors. Other notables to make it through the day were, for example, Phil Hellmuth, Marvin Rettenmaier, Bertrand Grospellier and Jason Mercier. However all the pros mentioned above were overshadowed by another player...

The American poker pro Brandon Cantu had a pretty insane winning streak during Day 2, including a massive pre flop three-way all in where two players were sent to the rail. Today he will bring a massive 738,100 stack to the poker tables - about 460,000 more than Paul Tedeschi in second place. Cantu will face Phill Hellmuth today when heads-up play begins. Hellmuth has 127,400 chips left to gamble with, so he will need a miracle to defeat Cantu.

The heads-up bracket is as follows:

Match, Player, Chips

1 Paul Tedeschi 278,600
vs.
Roger Hairabedian 225,600

2 Kristijonas Andrulis 142,000
vs.
Mike Watson 50,700

3 Martin Jacobson 164,900
vs.
Joe Keuther 37,100

4 Brandon Cantu 738,100
vs.
Phil Hellmuth 127,400

5 Faraz Jaka 258,100
vs.
Vladimir Troyanovskiy 66,300

6 Konstantin Puchkov 183,700
vs.
Bertrand Grospellier 18,000

7 Jennifer Tilly 163,300
vs.
Marvin Rettenmaier 191,100

8 Jason Mercier 16,800
vs.
Jonathan Aguiar 212,200

Phil Helmut is everywhere. I don't know about the real statistics, but i believe he must look like one of those poker ghosts, he enters almost all big live poker action and he goes far in a lot of them. Even if he doesn't win (he happens to win some) he reaches the final table or the better paid places a lot of times. I know many consider him the leader of the top 5 best poker players nowadays, but i used not to put him on this list and now i defenetly have to do it, i read his name everywhere!

The final 4 is now determined and there are no big surprises, it's Brandon Cantu, Roger Hairabedian, Jonathan Aguiar and Faraz Jaka. At this point i guess my choice to win this tournament is Roger Hairabedian because of his solid run in WSOPE so far and the fact that he is 2nd in chips at the moment.

Brandon Cantu, Faraz Jaka and Jonathan Aguiar for tha last 3 . Phil will bust out soon after they resume, his mental games will f... him up like most of the last tournaments he participated in. He should work on it more since he s the best player on this list.

I haven't seen Phil for some time now although he was present on tons of events lately, interesting image change.

To me personally Brandon Cantu is unknown but a stressed Phil H is always a ticking bomb at the poker table...
