€1 Million Buy-in Cash Game at EPT Grand Final?

Lots of well known poker players are in Monaco at the moment for the 2013 EPT Montle Carlo Grand Final, which begins in a few hours. However, what everyone's talking about is a €1,000,000 buy-in cash game! Rumors about the massive cash game have circulated on the web in the past 1-2 weeks or so and several people have already said they would play if the game goes (Sam Trickett, Isaac Haxton, Philipp Gruissem, Paul Newey and Niklas Heinecker). Apparenlty the game would be eight-handed, with €1,000/€2,000 blinds and optional straddle. The game would be played on May 11 (Saturday) at 16:00 local time.

"It's not often you get an opportunity to play in a game this big, so obviously that's pretty exciting," Isaac Haxton (picture) told PokerStars last week.

The promoters can't be too happy about this as it will take the attention away from the main event!
But all publicity is good publicity, right?

i'm waiting for this to be confirmed- gonna pack my luggage hop on my bike and be off to monaco to play against some of the best opponents. been saving my freeroll winnings for ages exactly for this kind of opportunity.
oh yeah: babes of monaco, get ready - this is your chance to get yourself featured in the melons spot

No one confirms it, but "they" were thinking about doing it as an eight handed game? Funny! So we have the name of five of them, the other three will either be entrepeneurs or players with financial problems using their last funds to try to find a way to solve their inner crisis in one night. In both cases, it's better if no one knows their names, so just do the game and have someone telling us who went from Monaco $5M richer than when he arrived.

I´d much rather watch of game full of business man donks or random players who ACTUALLY care about winning a 500k pot. Judging from the line up, this will be pretty boring when it comes to actual excitement from the players. I just watched that super high roller donkament where Hansen, Ivey and Antonius were the last three players and I have to say this was the most boring TV poker I´ve ever watched.

Now that should really be sick, i wondering that will be the game: NLHE or PLO?

If they will opt for PLO i think we should definately expect some multi-million dollars pots Big Smile
