The first Day 1 flight at the 2013 World Poker Tour Borgata Poker Open Main Event attracted 376 players and approximately 180 of them advanced to Day 2. The chip leader at the end of play was Cong Pham (picture) with 191,025 in chips. He will get $5,000 from Borgata as the chip leader yesterday, and $3,500 will be awarded to Besnik Ziba for finishing second in chips with 183,375.

Several big names fell during Day 1A including Matt Salsberg, Kara Scott, Matt Waxman, Chad Brown and Season XII "One to Watch" Loni Harwood. Luckily all of them (and other players that didn't make it through Day 1A) will have a chance to re-enter today. In fact, according to WPT's website, there will be unlimited re-entries for all players today.

We will be back with another brief update tomorrow!

Maybe it's the economy but only 376 seems a fairly low number for such a big tourney.

WPT events might not be as prestigious as WSOP but still seems a small number.
