WPT Borgata Poker Open: Volpe Leads The Way Into Day 2

On Monday, Day 1B at Borgata Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City, New Jersey concluded with close to 440 players of 813 entries! A total of 595 players of 1,189 will return to play later on today and Paul Volpe (picture) has the biggest stack of chips! Volpe, an American pro with over $2 million in live tournament earnings, finished Day 1B with 231,850 chips to earn a $5,000 bonus, and Anthony Castelli bagged up the second largest stack (203,950) to receive a $3,500 bonus.

The top 110 players will cash for at least $7,123 each from the $3,805,989 prize pool, the winner will get an incredible $825,099, and $17,000 is set aside to pay the chip leader bonuses for Day 1A and 1B.

I like the chip leader bonuses. Great idea and incentive to have a decent stack, can see people with similar stacks making bigger plays to get the bonus when its close.
