According to Forbes, United States Senator John McCain was playing poker on his iPhone during a 3+ hour senate hearing on whether or not the country should send missiles into Syria and get involved in a war that has claimed over 100,000 lives so far.

The image of McCain's mobile phone was taken by Washington Post photographer Melina Mara, and after it was passed on to Twitter, McCain tweeted the following:

Haha sick, he had nothing to do right ?

On such an important matter he is playing games, this shows well how crap he is..but his tweet sick, he doesnt deny it he accepts it with sarcasm lol

Hope that does not get out of proportion by the press!!
 Phisix04/09/2013 17:16:59 GMT
It was a meeting to discuss whether the US should get involved in this Syrian mess not a meeting of the justice league to protect the galaxy. It cannot be that much of a problem otherwise he would have not done it or come out on twitter like that.

Why such a big scandal about this? the guy is sitting on a room for 3 hours... probably not even involved in the conversation and we all know that the meeting was just for show... the real decision was already made a long time ago.

Now in what poker is concerned.. that hand, was it a Q2 os and he limped UTG??!!??!?.. man i hope he was just fooling around with play money Disagree

who knows senator nickname

I would suspect that his poker name on that site is: semper fi

It's the one on the top to the right if you look closely.

Senator McCain was a U.S. Marines fighter pilot in the Vietnam war.

The Marine's motto is semper fi,...so I'd go all in and bet that's his username....

By the way.....for a Republican....I find him tolerable. He's a moderate. I don't mind moderate right wingers...

In the Republican party, moderates are an endangered or extinct species,....but the only reason a lot of THEM tolerate him is because of his Marine background,...and that he spent 5 years in a Vietnam POW camp... He's a popular war hero...

If any of them badmouthed McCain too much....Americans would out them from their political career... Big Smile

 demodawggy16/09/2013 18:49:24 GMT
At least McCain was only caught playing poker...

...unlike Senator Larry Craig, an outspoken ANTI-GAY Republican, who was caught trolling for gay sex in a toilet stall in the Minnesota Airport bathrooms...
Big Smile< ahahahahahaHAHAHAHAHAHAhahahahaaaaaa

The Larry Craig scandal was an incident that began on June 11, 2007, with the arrest of Larry Craig—who at the time was a Republican United States Senator from Idaho—for lewd conduct in a men's restroom at the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport. Craig later entered a guilty plea to a lesser charge of disorderly conduct on August 8.[1] As a result of the controversy surrounding his arrest, subsequent guilty plea, and pressure from his fellow Republicans,[2][3][4] Senator Craig announced his intention to resign from the Senate at a news conference on September 1, which was to become effective on September 30. After failing to withdraw his guilty plea, on October 4, Craig released a statement refusing to resign as senator for Idaho. Craig did not run for re-election in 2008, and the incident effectively ended his political career.

Its a total disgrace that such an important meeting discussing peoples lives that this moron he had little or no interest.. typical american! Mind you none of them do, they just show contempt towards others as usual. I am wondering when they are going to tell China or Russia to give up their nuclear weapons? Never i suspect because they would be told to go away or else.

On another point when is the world going to wake up to these war mongers who themselves have used chemical weapons in their recent wars and destroyed the lands for 1000s of years? So they can do it and not be accountable? they hold the nuclear weapons and have used them in the past and most likely are busting a gut to use them again, wake up world to the real aggressors!! They should be held accountable for war crimes but hey they where when Bush and Blair where found guilty .. In Malaysia a mock tribunal has found former President George W Bush and Former Prime Minister Tony Blair guilty of war crimes. Kuala Lumpur War Crimes Tribunal which was formed at the request of former Malaysian PM Mahathir Mohamad, says the two leaders are guilty of crimes against peace, referring to their invasion of Iraq back in 2003... Enough said they are war criminals its a simple as that...and Obama the peace prize winner decided not to prosecute Bush.. hmm what a surprise ..

Larry
 Heskor17/09/2013 15:05:54 GMT
He knew it will not go to war, thats why he played poker and see now Syria is making a deal to remove their chemical weapons and such lol.

Anyway hope we the Syria conflict does not escalate into a war. yep and i agree with you surferboy, chemical weapons usage should be severely punished. But nowadays there are too much paperwork for them to be able to take action quickly!!
 demodawggy17/09/2013 16:28:36 GMT
The last time my buddies and I got together for a game of poker,....my one buddy Gary unleashed chemical weapons at the table by letting a huge FART rip.....and it was a particularly NASTY variety of gas... Evil

We had to make a run for it before we got too severely poisoned...... Confused Spade

NOTHING SCANDALOUS ABOUT IT!!!!!!!!!!

America should stay out of the Syria and let them fight their own battles! (same with any other battle in these Countries... Iran/Iraq, etc... These should be between those involved ONLY. NO OTHER COUNTRY).
Looks like this is what he is doing!!!!

Looks like Muslims have caused this chemical attack and hate to lose: so much for a peaceful religion! LOLOLOLOLOLOL

"offtopic" - Hello littlegreg ! I win a token FULL TILT at mobcalendars... like you.
You received the token in your poker account?

So! Here we have a small insight into how big government and international decisions are made........

(Senator, aside, playing holdem on his iPhone.)

Spokesperson: "So members of the senate, we have heard the accounts and the arguments, it is now for you to determine the appropriate action to take. Should we take military action or keep out of it?

(Other senators give their decisions.)

Spokesperson: "Senator you have the casting decision on this one, will you call for military action or say we should keep out of it?"

Senator: "I'm gonna call this one!"

Spokesperson: "So, members of the senate, you have chosen to call for military action. We have some choices; peace keeping, supporting the local military or we could go.for a full military strike".

Senator: "ha ha! All in!"

And that's how foreign countries get involved in military action in countries that are thousands of miles away!

That the Senator are playing poker between a hearing is not ok, but to play poker generally was ok. Why not? Perhaps he was a new promoter for new laws in the USA for online poker. It´s a nice game and everybody can play it, when this was legalized...
 damosk30/12/2013 19:35:42 GMT
iWeb you really get down to the basics of it from a poker perspective , the only true and real scandal would be which poker site was the senator using!
