17 players entered the World Poker Tour Alpha8 London event and 6 players, Daniel Cates, Max Altergott, Jean-Noel Thorel, Dan Colman, Fabian Quoss and Phillipp Gruissem, decided to fire another bullet.
Altergott and Colman's decision to re-enter the tournament for another £60,000 each proved to be wise decisions as they made it to the final table and eventually played heads-up for the title.
When the heads-up battle began, Colman held the lead with 1.6 million to Altergott's 700k. Altergott fought back well and overtook the lead after a few double ups. Eventually the two pros decided to increase the blind level to 50,000/100,000, which resulted in 3 all-ins and calls. In the final hand, Colman hit a pair of eights on the flop with J8 vs Altergott's K4. The turn and river were no help to Max Altergott who was eliminated in second place for £350,000. Colman scored yet another major title in 2014 and boosted his bankroll with £600,000.
