Last night, 49 hopeful players returned to the Playground Poker Club for Day 3 of the partypoker WPT Montreal Main Event. They were already guaranteed $8,930 each, but of course everyone did their outmost to make it through the day and move one step closer to the final table - where $409,656 is waiting for the winner.
At the end of the night, Jonathan Jaffe bagged up the most chips (2.5 million) among the 18 survivors. Jaffe will be joined to Day 4 by the likes of, for example, Kevin MacPhee (550k), Day 2 chip leader Maduka Meragal (1.8m) and Mukul Pahuja (1.7m), who finished runner-up in this tournament last year and became the Season XII WPT Player of the Year.
Unfortunately, there are no previous WPT champions left in the mix of players (Antonio Esfandiari [25th place], Andy Frankenberger [47th place] and Harry Arutyunyan [42nd place] were all eliminated during Day 3), so all of the remaining players are now looking to win their first World Poker Tour title!
Check back tomorrow morning for another update!
