EPT Prague: Andrey Zaichenko Wins The $10k High Roller

On Wednesday, 23 players returned to the Hilton Prague hotel for the third and final day of the record breaking $10,300 High Roller (309 entries). Several hours after Stephen Garner won the Main Event, a handful of players were still battling it out on the High Roller final table.

It seemed like the poker gods didn't want the EPT Prague Festival to end, given that the short-stacks kept on doubling up to keep the game going. Well, eventually, only three players remained and struck deal that left €40,000 in the middle. Andrey Zaichenko held the lead with 6.4 million to the 4.7 and 4.3 of Laurynas Levinskas and Francois Billard when the cards were back in the air and he stood tall as the champion at the end of the night to collect €487,180 and a SLYDE watch.

Many congratulations to Andrey Zaichenko on winning this high roller event and, the nearly, half a million euro first prize. He must have played really well because there were some great players on this final table

Zaichenko's victory came many hours after the Main Event--which many predicted would outlast the high roller--had been won, packed up and celebrated. It was no easy contest. A deal may have removed most of the jeopardy, but neither player looked likely to throw in the towel. Zaichenko, familiar to online players as "Kroko-dill," had the heads-up lead, but Levinskas worked hard to level the scores. The expression "You Will Not Out-Work Me" stenciled on his hat and t-shirt was never as true.

A good result for Zaichenko and finally the win he has wanted for years even if it was a three way deal it must feel good to get a title.I was surprised to see the amount of cashes he has had without actually winning in the last five years.Half a million euros is definitely a nice result as well.

Great performance by Andrey Zaichenko who finally ended the highroller for his profit and banking a huge 487k€ and a nice SLYDE watch. Martin Finger was out first, dispatched by Ole Schemion, while Erwann Pecheaux followed him thanks to the ace-three of Viacheslav Goryachev. Pecheaux had shoved with ace-king, but the flop had been unkind.

Too bad we didn't get some played hands referenced here from the final table or from the top3 but why am I crying about this when we could pander down the winner instead.
Suspiciously too many russians on the final table, it seems the KGB still have some outposts in good old Prague like they are used to do.

Putin must be so proud.

Three handed Zaichenko held the lead with 6.4 million to the 4.7m and 4.3m of Levinskas and Billard. But with the big blind at 160,000, things were still tight and a deal was drafted, leaving €40,000 in the middle. It was Billard who would end the day in third place, leaving Zaichenko and Levinskas to the last heads-up contest of the festival, one that would enthrall and exhaust in equal measure.

...not so nice if you are me... I played in all of the corresponding EPTLive Freerolls on PokerStars,...and got doinked out LONG before the money by clowns playing junk... Confused

If you go deep in those,..they are profitable... Smile Thumbs Up

...but you gotta get past a lotta crap, and tons of cheaters with multiple accounts... Spade

Russians on the top again for good reasons, congratulations on Andrey Zaichenko for this conquest, but also for the other players from the final part of the tourney. If it seemed like the poker gods didn't wanted them to go away, that may also have happened because they don't quit for having less than a certain amount of BB's in their stack. I am a defender that we should always play well, no matter if we have big or small stack. And if you're really short but you have the chance to play another hand if you decide to fold this 7-2, then why not wait for the next one? The main objective should always be to go the further possible!
