EPT Deauville begins today...

The European Poker Tour has made its annual return to Deauville, France. The tournament festivities will run January 22 - February 1 with close to 50 tournament scheduled, including the €5,000 + €300 buy-in Main Event on January 26 and the €10,000 + €300 High Roller (re-entry) on January 30. The Main Event attracted 782 players (€3,753,600 prize pool) to the Casino de Deaville last year and Frenchman Remi Castaignon ended up winning the whole thing for a first prize of €770,000; the High Roller was won by Vojtech Ruzicka (from Czech Republic) who overcome a field of 71 players (14 rebuys were made) to lay hands on €313,000!

Great to see the european poker tour back in Deauville. This is a beautiful part of the world and to play poker there must be a real treat. I wonder if we will get our first two time winner of an EPT event here

where on earth is deauville o,o at first i thought they said smallville Big Smile

but 50 tourneys in a row must be nice ... for someone with money to get so many buyins, thats it.

i would be hoping i wasnt taking any walks though,would not be good if you are out the tournament,got to say though the EPT is so big now.Its great to see them playing so many tourneys at 1 event.. Big Smile

What a classy joint! Look at that opulence.

Seems like a great place to play some poker. But how many people have 5k to just spend on a poker tournament without any of the other stuff like accommodation etc? It doesn't look that much on the face of it but it's still not chump change.

Alot of people will be trying to qualify online no doubt.

I saw the final table, was amazing, funny coin flips and a lot of sweat. I wish the other guy would won the heads-up match.. unlucky.
