On Monday evening, Jonathan Gaviao was crowned the champion of Harrah's Tunica Main Event, the 13th stop on the 2013/2014 World Series of Poker Circuit. Gaviao, a 23-year-old College Station, Texas resident, bested a field of 577 entries to lay hands on $181,757 in prize money, his first gold ring and a seat in the National Championship.
"It's wonderful," he said. "It's always nice to win a ring and make a little bit of money. I couldn't ask for anything more."
