A champion has been crowned at the World Poker Tour Jacksonville bestbet Open Main Event ($3,500 buy-in) after 4 days of intensive play! Nabil Hirezi, who brought the largest pile of chips to yesterday's final table of six players, topped a field of 258 players to earn $206,041 and his first WPT title! Hirezi is a 59-year-old dentist who has run a successful practice for 22 years in Jacksonville and he plays in the bestbet Jacksonville poker room almost ever day.

Nabil Hirezi has a big heart as well! According to WPT's website, he established the Rawand Hirezi Memorial Scholarship in the honor of his niece. Every year two deserving kids get to go to college thanks to the scholarship! In other words, the $206,041 first-place prize has definitely ended up in the pockets of kind and helpful man!

Ok, so Nabil Hirezi is experienced at the tables and he knew what he was doing and what would expect him at the final table because he plays almost everyday. What is more intriguing is the fact of being a dentist. That easily explains the fact of having $3,500 available to pay for the buy-in. But, being also recognized at his profession, he must be a very busy man, how can he find time to play almost poker everyday? The truth is he just got rewarded for that and we know it was for a good man who helps his comunity. Nice!

Great to read about such a worthwhile champion. Its always nice to see that an amateur player can take down such a big event. There is hope for us amateurs all over the world yet!

Yep always refreshing to hear winner that are working and stil l play poker, this is a nice story and good luck to him in his future tournaments, it is fun to have a good back ground story on the winners. Also he must have had a lot of support as it was at his home town. Cheers to him, guess he is already popular by now!

Great to read about such a winner.

No doubt that 200k will be, ahem, filling his bank account.
I wonder if the runners up got a hook-up and a discount at his practice in the future.

Yep,...nice to see the little guy win big like that...! Being that he's a dentist, he probably doesn't need the money,...but still,...it's still a fine prize...! His wife will probably spend it all on shoes...! Big Smile< heheee...

I have it on good word,..that he and his buddies use extracted teeth for chips....

Gold filled teeth = $20 chips

Silver filled = $10 chips

Bad teeth = $1 chips...
