In case you have been hiding under a rock for the past few months, we are happy to inform that the one million dollar buy-in event BIG ONE FOR ONE DROP will be back at the 2014 World Series of Poker after a year of absence. The event will take place over three days, from June 29 to July 1, 2014, with all play being filmed for television.

All 48 seats available for the event were filled back in 2012 when Antonio Esfandari defeated Sam Trickett heads-up for the title and an incredible $18,346,673. It's the biggest first place prize in poker history! Besides that, nearly $5.7 was raised to charity thanks to the 2012 BIG ONE event.

Will be see a new record first place prize and a new record donation at this years's WSOP? Well, it's very likely as the organisers have added one addition table to the 2014 event, which allows 56 players to participate! According to the latest updates on WSOP's website, 23 entries have been confirmed for the event so far. Among them are One Drop founder Guy Laliberté, wealthy businessmen and poker stars such as Antonio Esfandiari, Phil Ivey, Erik Seidel, and Jason Mercier.

There has been a lot of talk as of late whether Full Tilt Poker Pro Viktor "Isildur1" Blom will take part in the 2014 Big One for One Drop. Well, this is was he said in an interview a few days ago...

"...of course it's on my mind, but I haven't thought about it too much," he said. "I don't know yet, to be honest. I think I'll be at the World Series this year, but I'm not 100 percent sure yet, though. It sucks so much that it's right in the middle of the summer. It's crazy as I won't be able to enjoy the World Cup that way. I didn't go last year, but we'll see. I might be there."

Great to see this tournament return to the World Series of Poker. You not only get to see the very elite players but it also raises big amounts for a very worthwhile charity.Good luck to all

Amazing poker tournament, but I think they have raised for charity more than $5,7 in 2012. Big Smile

It's amazing how people can buy in for 1M$ and don't feel huge pressure while playing !

I am very happy to be a part of such a great community, wish you the best of luck at the tables, off the tables, behind the tables, under the tables and in your life in general.
Yours truly highyeah, somewhere near the Mediterranean Sea.

Was very excited when I heard that the one million dollar buy-in event BIG ONE FOR ONE DROP will be back at the 2014 World Series of Poker. Think this gonna be the ultimate challenge for high stakes professional poker players . This should be like Holy Grail number 2 of poker(number one is Main Event of course) Can't wait all these big names to fight for the big prize .
P.S. Victor my boy aren't you ashame when you saying something for World Cup and summer? You play poker or what? I think you should go and shows your skills in tournament facing the tops.

Wow it is back last year was fun and it was the firs tournament of the kind or second. not too sure but I think the latter. Anyway the prize pool will be huge. i just hope some of the money will be donated to charity as a piece of the buy in is just a small amount. Hope the tables are fun as last years, will be looking to stream some of the actions. Cheers must watch poker tourney!

I never gonna understand why would somebody bite off his nails in excitement cuz da buy-in is 1 mil instead of 10k.
Warren Buffets tax-return papers hold more thrill than this.
Many participants will not going to be skilled player just a rich one.

The truth is I probably wouldnt even watch it with pros only. Im a bit over my curious phase of 'le card magic'.

It is pretty awesome, despite the insane cash for the winners.

I feel the charity part of it gets totally overlooked which is bullshit because thats what its meant to be about. Imagine if Esfandiari repeat won - he'd be unstoppable in the all time charts.
As for Blom, I can't see him doing it, I don't think he's all that great with all the hype and pressure of these events along with the media circus etc.

Isildur lol. This guy cant compare with all this real poker pro players. He is just product of online industries to present young people how they can be poker superstars...ttttt

Isildur probably can´t afford this tournaments, because at least from what I have read, his poker earnings weren´t that good lately.

It would be nice and good for all if Izildur1 participates in this event. We all know he have what it takes to play there and be among the favourites to win it, and he would also be doing great publicity for FTP. The site doesn't need no worried about this, as i'm sure Gus Hansen will confirm his participation, but having both of the big names there would be great!

Big Smile
Gus Hansen is more likely looking forward to lose another big amount of money.

I hope he will be there, though, he is one of my favourite players, always fun to watch him play.

If so many participants will be this year i think the first prize could be close to 30 million dollars which would be just sick...

I think it will be very interesting to see if viktor will participate, i saw on the first event that all were very conservative in their play and i'm sure viktor will never play like that Big Smile

Ya,...I think you're right on that one... He's somewhat of a marketing tool... Just like some of the sports pros that they use to lend some credibilty to poker...!

Marketing tool,...or just plain 'tool',...I'd like to see Isildur get his ass kicked if he enters.... Big Smile Thumbs Up

I just DON'T like that guy...! Thumbs Down Confused
