As a part of the annual fund-raiser weekend known as Tiger Jam, which raises money to the Tiger Woods Foundation that helps improving the health, education and welfare of children in the USA, an exclusive 50-player $10,000 buy-in charity tournament (presented by the World Poker Tour) was played last Friday at the Mandalay Bay Hotel casino in Las Vegas.
Besides Mr. Tiger Woods, who's currently taking some time off from golf due to a back injury which saw him miss the US Masters last month, a number of celebrities (The Bachelor host Chris Harrison, Kunal Nayyar from the TV-series The Big Bang Theory, billionaire Mark Cuban etc) and poker legends (including Doyle Brunson, Antonio Esfandari, Daniel Negreanu and Phil Hellmuth, who was the event's emcee) attended the event.
Although the 38-year-old golfer made a deep run in the event, he missed out on the final table. The final table included poker stars Negreanu and Esfandiari, though, the title eventually went to South African Kinesh Pather, who's best known for his runner-up finish to Daniel Cates in the WPT Alpha8 Johannesburg ($100k buy-in) earlier this year.
