EPT Grand Final: Antonio Buonanno Wins The Main Event (€1.24m)

The High Roller final table might have been a quick one, but the Main Event final table was the opposite of that as it took over 300 hands, nearly 18 hours of play, until seven players had been eliminated and the tournament finally had a winner.

Laying hands on the title and the massive €1.24 million in prize money was Antonio Buonanno from Italy - the only finalist that didn't qualify online. Buonanno has been a regular on the European Poker Tour in the past few years, but this was (by far) his biggest cash to date! The fact is that his biggest cash prior to this tournament was a 4th place finish at the 2013 WSOP (Event #57) for $231,147!

Final table results:
1 Antonio Buonanno €1,240,000
2 Jack Salter €765,000
3 Malte Moennig €547,000
4 Mayu Roca €419,000
5 Magnus Karlsson €332,000
6 Sebastian von Toperczer €258,300
7 Kenny Hicks €188,500
8 Sebastian Bredthauer €128,800
9 Martins Seilis €102,000

Congratulations to Antonio Buonanno for taking down this event. The final table lasted a gruelling eighteen hours and to keep your concentration levels up for so long must take some doing

lol not online player winning the event, congratulations to him with some twist in writing we could have expanded on this and got another good story like saying online poker and live poker is still the same thing or variance and online poker player did not like the pace of live tournament. Anyway congratulations to him once again!

Big time has arrived.
Time to retire...or not for these poker nuts.
Thats incredible that 8 of 9 final tablists qualified online, shows how dead the live scene must be. I like how his previous biggest cash was over 200k and it's mentioned like he binked $900 in a $3 turbo tourney.

Wow, that was a long final table.

Imagine a 18 hour long SNG. Big Smile

If I recall correctly the Buonannos were one of the five families in New York? Am I right? This winning is going straight to the 'real' bankroll mobsters - HA! King Kong ain't got nothing on them!

And imagine being in a heads up battle for almost half million dollars.

Now that is a lot of money for basically a coinflip.

Big congratulations to Antonio, he scored really big on this tournament...

And when you think that the prize is in euros and not dollars then it's even better Big Smile

I'm sure he will also participate on future live tournaments.

Yeah, the difference between euros and dollars is significant in this amount.

I have done some calculations and the difference is enormous. Shock Shock
