John Hennigan Wins Event #46: The Poker Players Championship
The $50,000 Poker Players Championship, one of the most prestigious tournaments of the 2014 World series of Poker, concluded on Saturday after five long days of play. The last man standing at the end of it all was Johh Hennigan, a long-time pro from Philadelphia, who received his third gold bracelet along with $1,517,767 in prize money! This win marked Hennigan's third straight cash in the Poker Players' Championship, including a third place finish last year!
"I didn't even realize the magnitude of the situation last year when I got third, and to come back this year and win it, it's amazing," said Hennigan. "It's a very fulfilling moment to win this tournament."

David Miscikowski Wins Event #49: $5,000 No-Limit Hold'em
When the cards were in the air on the final table of Event #49: No-Limit Hold'em, David Miscikowski, a 28-year-old poker pro who's currently living in Costa Rica, lead with about 20% of the chips in play. He eliminated Jean Gaspard in seventh place to increase his lead even further. However, by the time Oliver Price was sent packing in fifth place, it was Norbert Szecsi who held the lead.
Miscikowski and Szecsi eventually played heads-up for the first-place prize of $ $719,707 and the gold bracelet. It was a tight match, but after nearly three hours of play it was Miscikowski who stood tall as the winner. Phil Ivey Wins Event #50: $1,500 Eight-Game Mix
Simply amazing! Phil Ivey won his 10th WSOP gold bracelet on Friday night in the $1,500 Eight-Game Mix tournament! Besides the bracelet and the $166,986 prize money, Ivey won considerably more in side bets made on the proposition of him or Daniel Negreanu winning a bracelet this year.
"It's number ten. That's a good number," Ivey said afterward. "Me and Daniel [Negreanu] made these bets. That's what I'm talking about. I said either me or him were going to win [a gold bracelet] and we took even money. Me and him were both very deep in this tournament. This was a great opportunity. The tournaments are dying down. There's not too many left. I knew I had to get this one, or else it was going to be pretty tough from here."
With his latest win in the $1,500 Eight-Game Mix, Ivey has won as many bracelets as poker legends such as Johnny Chan and Doyle Brunson. The latter is someone Phil Ivey spoke warmly of when interview by WSOP.com
"Doyle is one of my poker idols. When I first game to Las Vegas, him and Chip [Reese], we were all playing poker, so it's very meaningful to tie him," Ivey said. "It's not too fair of a race because he doesn't play too many tournaments anymore. I'm in there playing a lot of them. I just got finished playing with Doyle last week...we played for 12 hours and he's still as sharp as he can be. Yes, it's meaningful."
Now when the 38-year-old (Ivey) is tied with Brunson and Chan, the next goal should be to catch up with 13-time WSOP bracelet winner Phil Hellmuth...
"Do I think I can catch Phil Hellmuth? Sure, I think I can catch him," Ivey responded when asked about the ongoing gold bracelet race. "It's possible. We just have to see how it goes. I just have to keep in playing at this pace. I got to keep playing a lot of them because he [Hellmuth] plays a lot of them, so it's a lot of work."

David Olson Wins Event #52: $10,000 Limit Hold'em Championship
This tournament attracted a field of 122 runners. When the third and final day of play conclude after several hours of hard battle it was Mikail Olson who was the last man standing. He collected his first hold bracelet and $303,909 in prize money.
"Yeah, this is what you play for as a poker pro," Olson said moments after winning. "This means a lot to me."
Olson's best previous score in a major tournament is a second-place finish back in 2011 at the WSOP Circuit Championship played at Bossier City, Louisiana. Funniily enough, it was just a coincidence that he played this tournament...
"I actually flew in to play in the Monster [stack] tournament," Olson said. "I wasn't going to play this, but my friends talked me into it. I'm glad I did. It was a last minute thing."

Haixia Zhang Wins Event #53: Ladies No-Limit Hold'em Championship
Haixia Zhang topped a field of 793 players to earn her first major tournament title! Zhang came out to Las Vegas only to play in the Monster Stack tournament, which drew 7,862 players. Everything went wrong in that tournament and with some free time until she was about to return to her home in Los Gatos, California, she decided to play the Ladies No-Limit Hold'em Championship as well! A very wise decision indeed, given that she won the whole thing for $163,470 and now has a gold bracelet to her name!
"I'm in complete awe. It's unreal," Zhang said moments afterward. "I'm just glad to be here, let alone win it," Zhang said. I'm a business owner and a mom, and I really don't play poker that much. But I definitely will be coming back next year.""
