LIVE STREAM: EPT Barcelona Main Event: His $80 "Investment" Can Make Him A Millionaire!

Posted on 26 August 2014 by "T".

On Monday, 102 players returned for Day 4 of the biggest EPT Main event in history. After six levels of play and 12 long hours, 25 players bagged up chips and the chip leaer was Bram Haenraets of Netherlands with 4,395,000 in chips!

Believe it or not but this is Haenraets first-ever live tournament! He won his ticket to this tournament for about $80 bucks in satellite on PokerStars. Now, he's guaranteed to take home at least €33,300! - with a great opportunity of reaching the final table where €100k-€1.2 million are up for grabs!

"I can't believe it, it's been a surreal day," Haenraets told PokerStars Blog. "In my dreams I thought about being chip leader, but this is one in a million. I think my chances of winning are pretty good because I have a big stack and have the chip lead."

The plan for Day 5 is to play down to a final table of eight. We will be back with another brief update tomorrow morning!

These are the sort of stories that give every budding poker player hope of making a big win. I would love to see him take the first prize but it is going to be extremely difficult

This quote worries me with regard to his chances of winning. Seems to me that the 33k he's already winning (maybe more by now) is a lot more than he expected... Obviously he'll be really wanting to win, but I think he'll miss a few good spots trying to climb up rungs in the cash.

This is the problem with a satellite entry to a big tourney - While he was likely sticking to good bankroll management in playing the satellite, when in this tourney, the size of the prizes will (or can) be distracting and will (or can) make the player make mistakes.

Clearly not doing him too much harm so far, but I'll fairly confidently say that I don't think he'll run out the eventual winner.

More then I expected, but I'm not very familiar with the pro's. I used to watch some poker on my laptop but that's some time time ago, and I usually don't like to watch big tournaments, like the WSOP. That's because You see only parts, I mean you see 10 minutes one table then the other, etc.
I like to watch little tournaments/SnG's (live) where I already know the pro's who are playing.
