I am a semi-pro poker player and an author. I am currently working on several projects for publication, and will be discussing them on occasion in this blog. If you are a fan then I warn you, from time to time there will be spoiler book ideas discussed.
Section 1: Poker Tips & Concepts
I would like to make the suggestion that you consider choosing to use a four color deck while you are playing online poker. I realize that for many people, the idea of playing with more than the traditional two color (red & black) deck is uncomfortable, and even feels just plain weird.
I understand that if you are used to using a two-color deck, you will need some time to get comfortable with the new four color format. If you insist on only playing with a two color deck then consider that eventually, there is a very high chance that, at some point you will misread your hand.
I personally did just that twice after a long poker session. I got mentally fatigued and I thought I had a flush when in fact, I did NOT!
Using a four-color deck is a simple way to prevent you from making the same stupid mistake.

Section 2: A New Bankroll Challenge
I have decided to accept a new bankroll challenge. I am going to start with absolutely $0 in my PokerStars account and build up my bankroll by playing freerolls and then cash games and tournaments. This challenge is designed to show players how you can start with absolutely nothing and build it into something worthwhile.
This challenge will run from Sept. 06/2014 until Dec. 30/2014.
Watch as I go from $0 to ???
So today I will get started from nothing and play some freerolls. Personally I would like to go from $0 to $500 in the allotted time frame anything about that would just be totally bonus. Let us begin.

G'day Mates
Have you ever noticed how, they just do not make things like they used too, things are not made to have as high a quality anymore. Do you remember when, you could buy something new, and expect it to last for years of continued use? I certainly do, and I miss those days when quality was something consumers could just automatically expect. Do you realize that all microwaves are now designed to be disposable?
It is true. They now build microwaves which are supposed to be replaced every 12 - 18 months. My own microwave will be a year old in December, and it is already not working as well as it should. Cooking times are now taking longer and cheese does not seem to melt as well.

What does this mean to you in regards to poker?
It could apply to many things actually; let's say you are horrible at bankroll management. It could mean it is time for you to finally start playing within proper buy-in limits, and stop trying to take short cuts to grow your bankroll. You might want to start pretending that you are the most frugal and disciplined player in the world when it comes to bankroll limits. Sometimes we just need to do it until become a habit then it just become truth over time.
