It's no news that casinos in Atlantic City are struggling since a few years ago. The fact is that many of the city's casinos have been forced to file for bankruptcy and close down.

Among the casinos that have been forced to close down recently is one bearing 68-year-old billionaire Donald Trump's name. In August, Donald Trump sued Trump Entertainment Resorts, a corporation he once had a 10-percent stake in, for using his name on two Atlantic City casinos illegaly. Trump tweeted the following after one of the casinos bearing his name closed its doors for good.

I have never been a fan of Donald Trump and he seems to be one very good businessman but it is pretty arrogant to think that "Atlantic City lost it's magic" after he left.
I recently watched a TV program about a pro blackjack player who won millions in Atlantic City and he said it was failing because the big corporations were treating pro gamblers like any other customer without any idea of how intelligent these gamblers were when it came to odds. The pro was being offered money back on losses and amazing comps if he played at their casino he was unlikely to lose.

I still find it difficult to comprehend how a casino can go bust. Surely it is a license to print money and there must have been many failings at the top levels to allow these places to close

yeah Donald is an arrogant prick, but no one can deny that he has the skills necessary to be at the very top of business ladder. plus he's a billionaire- which he can afford a big mac or two everyday.

@doubletop- casino is just like any other business- it has expenses to run and when income doesn't cover expenses casino goes bust.

I remember all the Trumpesque induced fanfare that went on when that Casino first opened...!

What's even more hilarious about The Donald is when he got into that nasty war of words with Rosie O'Donnell over a few years... Heart

He was calling her a 200 lb Sasquatch... Big Smile< lol...

Atlantic City and Las Vegas could only build up such a huge gambling industry because of politics. Other states banned gambling, but in those places it was allowed. Now that the rules have relaxed, it is possible to gamble in other states as well, and the whales have Macao as their new destination, there is no surprise that the two cities runinto troubles.
