A big congratulations to Noah Schwartz, the winner of World Poker Tour Alpha8 Florida! The $100,000 buy-in event attracted a small but tough field of players (Jason Mercier, Byron Kaverman, Dan Colman, Jake Schindler, Noah Schwartz and Bryn Kenney), which meant that the entire prize pool would go to the last man standing.
Schwartz entered heads-up with a 3-1 chip lead against Jake Schindler, best known as the winner of the 2014 PCA $25k High Roller ($1,192,624). Schwartz dominated play until his fellow American opponent basically was forced go all in to have a chance to get back into the match. Schindler won that pot but then lost another all-in later on to finish in second place.
Schwartz earned $585,000 for the win - along with the Alpha8 trophy, a pair of Monster 24k headphones and a Hublot King Power Unico titanium watch. He also became the first player in WPT history to have won Main Event and a ALPHA8 tittles, both of which have come in his home state of Florida.
