Erick Lindgren In Trouble Over $2.5 Million Debt

In 2012, former Full Tilt Poker owner Howard Lederer revealed to PokerNews that former Full Tilt Poker Pro Erick Lindgren owed the company $2 million dollars. Lederer said that Lindgren received a double-credited $2 million loan in April 2011 by mistake, but the two-time WPT and WSOP champion never gave the extra $2 million received. 

PokerStars' parent company, The Rational Group, overtook the rights to the $2 million debt when they bought the company last year. On Monday, The Rational Group revealed to PokerNews that it has sued Lindgren in federal court for $2 million, plus $531,807 for a separate loan he received to play poker tournaments for.

According to Courthouse News, The Rational Group wants the $2.5 million back, and damages for conversion, unjust enrichment and breach of contract.

Not seen much of Eric Lindgren for a while but I'm sure he is still making money and he won a bracelet in 2013 though for anyone to find $2 million is not easy.
We can see how full tilt got into so much trouble if they could give away 2 million by mistake.It was a different story when full tilt owed millions to their customers,they weren't so quick to pay it back either.

Howard Lederer now is very fast to talk but on the Black Friday he kept is mouth shut and say he din´t know nothing about the problems of the company and make everything keep the players money Aww crap! That said if Lindgren owed the money make him pay Thumbs Up Thumbs Up
Those pro made Full tilt big but playing with the money of other people is easier Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

The new owner are doing the right think if the guy was paid twice and never said a word and kept the money he is very lucky that they are just going for the money and not with a criminal offense.

As to full tilt they never paid the players that had money left on the site. This was done by pokestars when they took over they made a deal wiith the U.S. gov. that they would give them over 500 millions to pay the U.S. players and they paid all other players. Smile Smile Smile

i never understand this, it does happen once in a while with banks as well- some random dude gets credited a double, triple or any other bigger amount to his account by mistake, like lindgren here- and then he becomes almost a criminal if he doesn't want to give it back... for fcuk sakes did he steal something? who made the mistake? in this case full tilt (in my example banks)- so my reasoning is that who makes the mistake is responsible for it... sure they can ask for a refund, but not demand it.

It says he took the "loan" in April 2011....same time as black Friday?.... yet in May 2011 he won 700k in a 100k super high roller so he obviously had money to pay the loan back and previous to that he had won millions of dollars so why did he need the loan?
To some cynics it could look like FTP were handing out money to people/friends knowing full well FTP was not going to survive and the money would never be paid back......but surely people with the integrity of Lederer, Ferguson and others would never do that!!

i mean it is his fault
he had the money so why not pay back ?
pokerstars doesn't care about those 2 millions
they not gonna make them richer , they are multi-billionaire company
it is just a matter of principal i guess

one last thing why you had to mention Howard Lederer , the most hated in the poker community
not only he is a terrible player but he is also a thief

First it isnt pokerstars, its a fulltilt, second they send him money by mistake as I see, so whos mistake was it??? If I was on his place I would pay it back, but he got full rights not to, and I dont know how law is forcing him to pay it back... It is a same like you go to shop, and casheer give you more change than it is... if you exit store, and notice that, you can keep it...

Wait, does the loan appeared miraculously on his poker account or somebody just sent him a check he cashed in? Either was he is responsible no doubt but if the sponsorship in these big poker networks is about crediting magic money to players who signed up for it, then for God sake why aren't there an accountant in these companies who double check this method?

It could be a pain in the a$$ going through that mountain of papers from the previous management looking for outstanding debts or whatnot just to make sure they know about every shanenigans, but somebodys double credit cannot be the first one in the list of errors they made before Black Friday. The list itself probably helluva longer and way more interesting.
