Photo by Joe GironThe second day of the World Poker Tour Bay 101 Shooting Star $7,500 Main Event has come to an end. 155 players of 389 that entered on Tuesday will return for Day 2 today. 2014 WSOP ladies event champion Haixia Zhang bagged up the largest stack of the second day (281,000 chips), which means that she will enter Day 2 with the second largest stack after Day 1 A's James Carroll with 297,600.

Last year this tournament saw a record field of 718 players. This year the total field size so far stands at 700 entrants. However, registration will be open until the start of Day 2, which means that the record of last year still might be beaten. Right now, the top 72 players will get paid and the winner will take home $1.1. Tomorrow we'll announce the official prize pool!

This tournament as attracted a very large field and proves that poker is still very popular and thriving. It will be interesting to see who is left in when it comes down to the money stages

Doubletop777 you're right poker attracts a lot of people. We are playing online it so unnoticed but sometimes reviewing the list of players in the big tournaments, you can see the number of people increases. Maybe not but growing rapidly which shows that poker is popular.

I stated yesterday that everyone I could care for already out of this tourey early, so at this stage I don't know what to think about this lady - besides that I am surprised why aren't more asian ladies playing poker for a start. They have a natural ability to be cool, calm and collected plus all those math skills.

Judging her by the wsop result Haixia Zhang can play good poker so she obviously could go on to win this.A lot of the favourites have gone out already so a great chance for the lesser known players to grab some publicity.
