"Nearly 5% of Japanese adults are addicted to gambling, a rate up to five times that of most other nations, according to a study."

Totally makes sense. Huge market potential, undoubtedly.

I have to say I have never seen or even heard of this person but being from the UK that is no surprise.Do people really register and learn how play poker and deposit cash just because they get a decent looking celeb to publicise the brand?

Usually pokerstars dont make to much mistake when they take someone as team pro. Yuiko Matsukawa being a well known actress i japan will probably help the site to get moore players from this country. I wish her good luck in her new job and on poker tables. Smile Smile

Let's see if I get this one right - Jokerstars now going after popular reality stars who will serve as human marketing tools to make sure they have presence in a country where besides pachinko gambling is sort of illegal or organized by the Yakuza.
Sure, this is the best way.
